It's pretty easy to reset the service intervals from the dash. The battery is weirdly shaped.

I have nothing but good things to say about my Mickey Thompson ET Street 315/35/17 if you're looking for a tire. Nitto 555R if you need something a little less soft that won't shed 10 miles of tread life just rolling down the driveway :awe: The Mickeys seriously leave high res black tread marks even when they aren't spinning and they are soft as gum when you sink your fingers into them.

Also you're a bastard because now I don't know what I would like better, a E46 M3 or a 335i. I'm a sucker for cars that are cheap and easy to mod.

I don't need to go quite that insane, adding width and an above average all season should do fine. The ones on it right now are nasty runflats, hence the poor traction. Even Continental DW/DWSs should do better.

I just converted a friend out of an E46, he's looking for a Coupe 335i to replace his M3.

Just a note about running your car "hard" *ahem*like it was meant to*cough*, especially with your new found power.

The 2007 Model Year did not have an aux oil cooler with the sport package as standard equipment. That was later added with the 2008 model after many complaints of over-heating. Some vehicles were retro-fitted from BMWNA for free, but many not. You might want to check to see if you have the aux cooler and if not, contact BMWNA and see if they will install it for you under the original manufacturer warranty (assuming you are still under that). If not, there are aftermarket solutions as well.

Very interesting. I'll have to go dig into the car and check. The JB4 lowers the boost if the oil temps are too low/high which I imagine helps a ton, but I'll have to do something about it if it doesn't have it for the sake of longevity.

EDIT: Just read some other forums, they won't give you one if you're not first owner. If I don't have it, any brands you recommend? I'm not going to Dinan, those fuckers are crazy.

Crappy. I hate it when manufacturers do this. A warranty is a warranty, right?

It apparently isn't considered a warranty issue unless you experience severe overheating (which also says something else is going wrong). The ones they gave the cooler was done out of "kindness." Uh huh.

AR Design has one, but it's pretty spendy as well if you need the retrofit kit since you don't have the factory cooler, but it's $1200 cheaper then Dinans solution.

Any reason you went with the JB4 over Cobb?

I like the JB4 community. Those guys <3 boost and fast mostly stock cars. I also have no fear of wiring and installing a piggyback and USB cable into the car, plus for $600 with an intake, ot was a pretty awesome deal.

Well that didn't take long. Lost cylinder 4 or 5 today. Removed JB4 when I got home and sent it to BMW. The mechanic said it was likely the plugs. They appeared to be the factory plugs and we're guessing the previous driver never really wrung the car out, and I drive quite agressively so I may be finding a few weak links.

lol. Better now then when the warranty dies off.

I couldn't even find a local shop with the right plugs. The pain of owning a german car is coming on strong...

Really? Where do you live? Theres a dedicated VW shop about 15 minutes from my house if I need anything obscure, other than that autozone/Oreileys/napa would probably have it if I looked.

Not at Autozone or O'Reilleys. They didn't even list that plug as existing in their computers. Doesn't matter, didn't have the particular socket either.

It needs these and this socket.

I spit a plug in my 03 cobra while street racing a c6, wasn't fun, thought I had blown the motor there for a second, damn things only had a few threads on each plug, piss poor original design.

Eventually. Especially with how bad my traction issues are now. I need more width in the rear. I also can't think of too many visual mods I'm willing to do to this car, so wheels and LED halos are about it.

Try Falken Azenis or Dunlop Direzza Star Specs..or one of the other ultra sticky summer tires.

Or drag radials. :awe:

It appears the rims you have are not staggered, so I'd recommend ditching those for a staggered setup with some Conti ExtremeContact or PS2s, that should help with your loss of traction. A LSD would help as well, and around a 1500 upgrade.

You should look at BMW coding options now. Buy a cable for around $100, get the software and you can do some crazy stuff, including programming a new battery when it comes time for replacement.

Do you have paddle shifters? If so, you can rewire them so its right pull shift up, left pull to shift down. Congrats on the car, and start modding!

I'd probably go staggered volks or advans with the new Pilot Super Sports if you're getting wheels. If your 07 still has a the bolted rear diff vs the newer 6MTs with the welded, an LSDs an easy upgrade.

I put an LSD in it before changing to wider wheels and tyres.

Doesn't have one already?

Yeah, that would probably help. MR2's can light up both rear tires without an LSD - something funky, I guess, but if he's spinning one wheel, that would definitely help.

LOL! Tell me about it. I stripped one of my wheel locks so I had to replace it. I could not for the life of me find a place that sold BMW wheel bolts. I even went to a dealership and they didn't have them in stock. I had to drive around for 20 miles until I found a custom rim shop that had them.

Nope, no LSD on 335's, M cars only.

Call from the shop manager today. The car was originally sold at that dealership and she told me it was 100% up to date on all the service and was babied before. She agreed that it likely hadn't ever been driven hard and I had just found a weak link. She said that even if it's the plugs it will fall under warranty and they'll start work today or tomorrow morning and hopefully have the car back to me tomorrow. If not, they'll drive out a loaner for me.
