Happy days oh happy day oh taking the country back are we! We The People will put this country back on track and we WILL take our country back.

The fine citizens of Kentucky have rejected a RINO in Trey Greyson and will send a libertarian-lite to the senate election. Current polls have Rand winning handily against whatever dem candidate wins. Against all the attacks of "Rand's crazy ideas" he still won.

In an unambiguous demonstration of the muscle of the Tea Party movement, Dr. Rand Paul has defeated Secretary of State Trey Grayson in the Kentucky GOP Senate primary, according to an estimate by the Associated Press.

Grayson, the choice of much of the GOP establishment (including top Senate Republican Mitch McConnell, Kentucky's senior senator), had initially been expected to win the Republican nomination fairly easily.

Purge of moderates continues in GOP. And by moderates, I am talking about in GOP, I mean radicals but with some grip still left on reality.

Long term, GOP is building a permanent minority party.

Stopping Obama is all we care about right now. We can stop his damage and willful destruction of this great nation. I've never seen people so excited to vote. All over the office people were making sure to ask everybody if they voted, making sure family and friends got out and voted and all the enthusiasm of "We're going to stop Obama, we have to stop him, NOW!".

People are no longer going to sit on the sidelines. And recent elections have shown that. The sleeping giant is wide fucking awake.

But you'll just continue to ignore all the elections where we've rejected what Obama is doing.

Even though it looks like Rand Paul has won the GOP nomination, Spidey may be wise to not blow his whoopie whistles too hard until ole Rand wins the general election in November.

Never underestimate how many GOP moderates Rand will alienate. Trust me, I know, my wife is from KY, and there are a lot of dems and moderate repubs in KY also.

But the other thing, ole Rand better do better than his 4%ing Daddy in the general election.

I understand that. But he had to win the primary to even have a chance so it's a small, but important victory. And in general it is a conservative state with Obama losing it by 10%+.

This has been said a billion times, but where were you and the "people" (which I assume is your way of describing everyone in your wingnut office) during the eras of Bush's and Reagan's out of control spending/destruction of the country?

During Reagan? Seriously? Grade school, Jr. high, and high school.

I can't immediately confirm it but counties where Paul won are showing 70-80% voter turnout. IN A PRIMARY!

I TOLD you the giant is fully awake.

Why anyone would think this even begins to approach an argument with any degree of credibility is a mystery.

This is real life. This is not the playground at middle school. Enough with the fairness arguments. It reeks of immaturity.

Yeah, because libertopians will fuck up the country even worse then combine forces with Palin to bury us.

Who said anything about libertarians? We need a party of true fiscal conservatives -- I don't care about the social policy crap like gay marriage, etc.

Good news to me, Ron Paul was definitely my candidate of choice. Can't stand Palin though.

QFT.

Paul may not be perfect but he is definitely more acceptable for the good of the country than most of the charlatans that are serving in office right now, however temporarily.

Tonight is going to be a bellwether of sorts as there are elections in different parts of the country that are going to be key come November or are representative of the general malaise. Time to read the tea leaves.

The only reason Rand Paul ran in the Republican Primary instead of claiming Independent was because he knew that's was the only way he'd get into office. The GOP and even Senate Minority Leader McConnell backed his opponent who did have many RINO tendancies.

That shit isn't going to fly. We need REAL fiscal conservatives to stop Obama's agenda. And We The People have spoken loud and clear. Paul even ran adds saying "This is a message from the Tea Party, we are here to take our country back."

And he won. Handily.
