Alright my parents have about a 6year old computer, its like an amd 733 with like 512 of ram. It has been blue screening latley and ive just been doing chkdsk /r in the recovery console to get it to boot to windows again. I replaced the hard drive like 2months ago thinking maybe the old one had gone bad. Now its starting to do it more frequently, so im pretty sure its not the hard drive. The computer is left on all the time, and its starting to blue screen like once a week now.
Last night i guess it blue screened and its saying hard drive disk failure, so i think the hard drive might even be wiped, im not sure i'm not next to the computer.
Im just wondering, since its so old, what would be the first thing to go bad over time that could cause something like this? So far ive thought either the power supply is bad, or the ram is bad.
YES everything is 6yrs+ old except the hdd
