Ok I put together a new machine yesterday. All the parts new except hard drives from the machine I am replacing.

P5W DH Deluxe
OCZ2P8002GK 2gb kit
E6600
X1900XT
PC Power and Cooling Silencer 750
XP Pro SP2

Problem is, random BSODs. Page Fault in non paged area, blaming win32k.sys This seems to be a catchall BSOD so it didnt help me much.

I ran memtest, no errors. I ran the Microsoft mem tester and got 1 error during the LRAND test

The system can not run Prime95, it wont get past the self test it runs when you first install it. It either BSODs or it fails with a rounding error.

My settings are stock in the BIOS, I did have to enter manual timings/speed for the memory since it was showing as PC-4300 when set to SPD. I have tried the 1101, 1201 and 1305 BIOSes.

Its not a heat/cooling issue. Temps are fine according to the Asus probe software and CoreTemp.

Memory problem? Mobo problem? PSU? Advice?

I dont have a spare anything to test except an older PSU, Silencer 470 I think. I have been reluctant to test that because its all cabled up in another comp.

check memory timings in bios and put them on safest setting. also try with just good ram stick (stick that didnt fail on test) You may need to find someone familar with that boards memory settings to set it correctly

I dont think the memory is to blame. It ran memtest all night with 0 errors. And I reran the Windows memory tester and could not duplicate the 1 error I saw initially.

Since this first post I have messed with the voltages a ton and gotten Prime95 to run but the system is still not truly stable. If I play games, or load the hell out of the CPU with Prime95x2 then it will inevitably BSOD or just reboot.

I switched the PSU out with one I know works (old PSU from old comp, 470watt PCPowerandCooling) and still had problems.

So everything is pointing to the mobo at this point.

On the advice of more than a few people I removed a stick of RAM and tested. BSODs with one stick, but not with the other. So despite passing memtest, it looks like it is a RAM issue.
