Random computer crashes

Amd Athlon 64 dual core Processor
m2n32-SLI Deluxe Mobo
6GB PC6400 DDR2 ram

I was having an issue where my computer freezes up while playing Starcraft II. I first thought it was a heating problem so I cleaned out my system and reapplied thermal glue to video card and processor. Went back to Starcraft watched some games and kept speedfan up the whole time to check temps computer crashed again with all the temps being within proper range. Now my comp sometimes will crash before windows even fully starts. I then tried anti viruses and system restore to no avail.

Details on crash- The comp freezes up but if music is playing it will continue to play. It goes for 5 or so seconds then stops and starts in 2 and keeps going (as long as I cared to listen was about 1 minute).

Test everything.

Run Memtest first - that'll test only your RAM. If it errors out you may need new RAM. If it doesn't give you an error run Prime95 to test the CPU and general system stability. Also there's always the possiblity of a power supply problem. I noticed you didn't list you PSU in that spec - what is it?

Sounds like a graphics card problem there, if you are losing video but sound keeps playing, try testing another graphics card in there.

First go see for update (KB973879) in your pc. and remove it. if you have too. go in safe mode.this is a problem for vista and 7..

1) scan for virus and malware
2) reinstall graphics drivers to same or newer level
3) run checkdisk
4) try card in the other pcie slot if you can
5) memtest as suggested
