ok first of all d config:

MSI RS 480M2-IL
GF 6600 GT PCI-E
AMD 64 3000(winchester)
2x512 MB RAM
400 watt PSU(17A ON 12v RAIL)
40 GB hdd

now the problem is like dis:whenever i want to play some games, the machine crashes with a loud looping, screeching noise in d backgrnd. Have to reatart manually.Thought it was a driver problem, used DC and reinstalled drivers, tested several versions to no avail.

Formatted the disk, found no errors on running chkdsk, reinstalled windows.

Took out the card and tried to play with onboard gfx.Crash!!(so no pro with GFX card i think)

Disabled onboard sound.Same problem.

Upgraded n downgraded BIOS.

Now i have run out of ideas. So pls the techgurus out dere help this noob.

EDIT:another problem that has cropped up is that d machine's hanging randomly while surfing or listening to songs.I dunno if there r some links to these problems.

Overclocking anything? If so, drop everything back to stock.

You could also test the memory, try one stick at a time, although I doubt that'd be the problem.

The power supply is usually a suspect. 17A is marginal by today's standards and the quality may not be there.

i agree with Dethfrumbelo your PSU could be the source another source could be board itself (bad capacitors)

Let?s say you are on your trusty computer which has a fairly clean OS, not too many major programs and an internet application or two. You are chugging along, internet surfing and listening to music at the same time through the media player when all of a sudden your computer simply shuts off and starts to boot again. If this does not occur, you may be running along when all of sudden the screen freezes, no mouse movements, nothing. Finally, if during your normal boot screen you hear a lot of beeps from the system computer that you have never heard before AND you have not added any new hardware or software, this can indicate problems with the capacitors. If this has been happening infrequently in the past and is becoming more and more frequent, your board may be dying?
