I have an odd issue. On the computer I have hooked into my living room projector, while watching DivX or other video for more than an hour, occasionally my computer will lock up solid requiring a reset. When trying to play a game, such as FarCry, sometimes the level will not even load before a lockup. The longest I've been able to play FarCry or nearly an other FPS was about ten minutes before the computer crashed. Interestingly, Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow runs without a hitch.
I've never had a lockup within just simply Windows or any 2D, non-video application. Specs are as follows:
Windows 2k SP4 all updated
Athlon XP 1800+ Thoroughbred B [not overclocked; 133 FSB, 1.5 VCore]
Asus A7N8X Deluxe PCB version 2.0 [nForce 4.27, latest drivers for SATA, NICs, etc]
3x 128MB generic PC2700 DIMMs at 2-3-3-6 [2.6 volts(?)]
LeadTek Winfast A6600 TD [with ForceWare 71.84]
Maxtor 20GB 5400 2MB cache HD
Western Digital WD800 80GB HD
Samsung DVD-RW
Samsung DVD reader/CD-RW
running Ad-Aware, Spybot and Kerio Personal Firewall for protection
I appreciate your assistance.
