You may want to check the logs of you computer and see the errors you received before reboot. Also if you are running win2k or winXp use the below steps to disable auto reboot.

Right click My Computer, go to Properties. Click on the Advanced tab, and then click on the Settings button under Startup and Recovery. Finally disable Automatically Restart under System Failure.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

The Parallel port driver service failed to start due to the following error:
The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

The Sentinel service depends on the Parallel port driver service which failed to start because of the following error:
The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

im guessing these are the errors... no clue what it means..

Sounds suspiciously like the Infinite Loop problem...

Check www.viaarena.com for more information - there's a guide there, and plenty of posts in the forums.

It sounds like your p.s. probably isn't up to the job, but simply buying a new one may not be enough - check that site for more information & things to try & troubleshoot. Good luck!

I'm having the same kind of problem. Ugh. x_x Yeah, where can you find the log files?

Yep, there's error messages left from whenever my box rebooted. How how the heck do I decipher these? ^_^;;; It looks like all the blue-screen-esque illegibal junk we've all learned to hate from Windows 9x.

LOL I had this same exact problem with my system just this week, Id be playin a game then BOOM it reboots. So I disabled auto reboot open the side panel of my tower and used my fan to cool my video card. Come to find out my video card was running hot for some odd reason. I had the vid card replaced and now my system runs fine. Give the fan trick a try but Im almost positive this is a video card issue.

Are you running anything off of your parallel port? (printer/ scanner) if so, check your bios settings for your parallel port and try changing them to a different setting. If this doesn't help, try pulling out one of your nics, you may have a irq conflict going on there.

Most bioses will let you disable your parallel port completely so that windows doens't know it exists. Try that. It mentions the sentinel service in the error message. Disable this service.
