random rebooting

my Pentium3 , abit sa6, 256mb ram, ibm deskstar 30gb hdd, blaster agp graphic
card, etc. system (just over 2 years old) built in a foxconn case with supplied power supply., has just recently begun rebooting at random, somtimes often and sometimes not for hours. Ihave all power management off. I'm sure it is not an os(w98se) problem. Any one have an answer to this sort of problem? I would greatly appreciate any input at all, if you have any knowledge of this sort of problem.

Random reboot always is the PSU problem? what is the recommended PSU for a P4 system? Soltek MB 75FRV with decent amount of loads for office work?

Enermax 365-series or an Antec TruePower 330 would be nice. I lean towards Antec for the systems I build at our office, partly because they have a 3-year warranty that actually means something (not that I've had any issues with their PSUs so far).

psyber8, welcome to the Forums The included PSU may be failing, and it would be smart to replace it, but it's also worth looking closely at the capacitors on your motherboard to see if any of them are bulging and/or leaking their electrolytic fluid. If you're not sure of what a capacitor looks like, they look like this As you can see, the ends of it should be flat, not bulging.

I dont know if you use a PCI modem, but I once had one that would cause similar problems. Replaced modem, problem fixed.

no i have a road runner cable connecton, so that can be removed from the suspect list.

HEAT. Check your fans and air flow. Everytime I have seen a machine acting like that it has been from heat.
