Random restarts and crashes in 3D games and 3dmark2k1se

I recently purchased a GF4 ti4200 128mb 8x to replace a dead GF3. However, my system now exhibits instability in 3d games which worked fine before with the GF3. The GF4 card that I purchased seems fine otherwise and can even achieve a modest overclock. However, even with the GF4 running at default speeds, playing MVP Baseball for an extended period will either restart the system or crash to the desktop. In addition, when I looped 3dmark, the system crashed and restarted as well after approximately 30minutes of looping.

Does anyone have any ideas as to the cause of this problem? Does this sound like a faulty video card or perhaps did the additional power consumption of a GF4 finally take my P/S to its limits?

Asus P4S333 (SiS645)
512mb PC2700 Samsung
Audigy OEM
BFG Geforce4 Ti4200 128mb, 8x, defaults to 250/513 speed
Win2k, tested with both 40.72, 41.09, and the newest 44.xx drivers

My friend just upgraded his system to a new IC7. Doing so allowed him to run his modded (copper heatsink and memory sinks) Gainward Ti4200 at decent/good overclock(295/550).

The reason I mention this is that the video card wouldn't even run the mild overclock that it came with (Gainward came overclocked) and he had to use the "overclocking" software to underclock the card so that it would run stable on that same mobo that you have the P4S333. My theory was that the voltage regular for the apg voltage was a bad design and was underpowering the card, but have no proof.

Anyway, I hope you sort it out.............

I agree with Warcon, sounds to me like an AGP problem. Try reading up to see if theres a Flash update for your BIOS, to help with your new card.
