FOXBOROUGH (NEWS CENTER) -- As the New England Patriots get ready for this weekend's AFC Championship game against the San Diego Chargers, Randy Moss is defending himself against allegations from a woman in Florida.
According to radio station WDBO, a woman accuses Moss of causing serious injury and then refusing to allow her to seek medical attention. She was granted a temporary injunction for protection against dating violence.
In Foxborough Wednesday, Moss denied the allegation. He says the woman has been a friend of his for 11 years, and that her injury was an accident. He says he in no way prevented her from getting medical attention.
Moss told reporters that the woman is trying to get money from him, and her representatives threatened to leak the story to the press if he did not pay her. He says he asked coach Bill Belichick for advice last week, and the coach advised him to concentrate on football.
WDBO says a hearing will be held January 28th, when the court will determine whether to file a permanent judgment of injunction for protection against dating violence.
No criminal charges have been filed in the case.
Silly Randy, hopefully it's not true. I like Belichick's not giving a fvck attitude: "He says he asked coach Bill Belichick for advice last week, and the coach advised him to concentrate on football. "
