I thought it was kind of funny, seems like sometimes football resembles the wrestling on tv. Its only entertainment.
Wrestling is scripted, without that entertainment and drama factor, no one would watch. Stunts like these and stupid athletes keep people away (or at least they should, but knowing people today it'd probably just convince more kids to watch. OMG THAT DUDE SAID FVCK YOU ON NATIONAL TELEVISION. I WANNA BE JUST LIKE HIM. MTV 4 LIFE

So "pretending" to pull down ones pants during a NFL game might persuade a kid to do the same act? Give me a break. Id be more concerned with the last Jackie Chan movie the kid might have seen. Stunts like this dont bring more people to watch football games, it just adds to the game IMO. I was watching the game (i wasnt going for either team) and after he got the touchdown and did that, i got a good laugh out of it.

Do you realize that green bay fans are well known for mooning the opposing team when they leave on their bus?
i never actually made a reference to this particular situation because I still haven't seen it. My comments are directed at sports and football in general. Kids these days are easily influenced and stupid. They eat stupid things like this up. You may be able to tell the difference and realize the funny value, but don't complain when 10 year old kids are telling you to fvck off and treating you with no respect whatsoever. I'm not trying to take away blame from bad parenting or anything, but we all know that male kids envy sports figures, but the problem is half of the kids idolizing them are already more mature.

Whatever the league said it was for, it was mainly for taunting. He had been fined twice before, so I see no problem with him being fined again. Besides, it's chump change for him, right? lol

That's why I was saying it'd be great if the NFL could really fine these a$$clowns. Could you pay a $500,000 fine in cash, Randy? Probably, but guaranteed you wouldn't act like a baby again out of fear of the repercussions.

The fans are customers, the players are the employees. If an employee showed that kind of disrespect to any customer in any other job they would be LUCKY to get a fine and keep their job. Just for a little perspective.

I don't care what kind of taunting a fan does the players should be held to high levels of maturity. They are getting paid millions to play a game, the least they could do is show respect to the people coughing up the $ for that paycheck. Even if those people are d!cks. Two wrongs don't make a right.

Minnesota's controversial wide receiver was fined $10,000
Thursday by the NFL for pretending to pull down his pants and moon
the Green Bay crowd during a playoff win last weekend.
"Ain't nothing but 10 grand. What's 10 grand, to me?" said
Moss, whose salary this season is $5.75 million. He then jokingly
suggested he might perform a more vulgar celebration next time.

KARE-TV of Minneapolis recorded the exchange between Moss and reporters outside the Vikings' practice facility.

Reporter: "Write the check yet, Randy?
Moss: "When you're rich you don't write checks."
Reporter: "If you don't write checks, how do you pay these guys?"
Moss: "Straight cash, homey."
Reporter: "Randy, are you upset about the fine?"
Moss: "No, cause it ain't [expletive]. Ain't nothing but 10 grand. What's 10 grand to me? Ain't [expletive] Next time I might shake my [expletive]."

Him and his fellow Minnesota Athlete Latrel Sprewell would get along pretty good.

There won't be a next time, at least this season.

Again, what about fines based off of a % of your salary?

Agreed. ESPECIALLY when you take into account that the Green Bay fans are notorious for mooning the opposing teams bus after a Packers win at Lambeau. Since when is turnabout no longer fair play?

Why do these moron's make so much while school teachers struggle on their 25k/yr salary. Its disgusting.
because people dont pay $50 or more just to get into a junior high school basketball game, then spend another $50 on beer and hot dogs, then $75 on a replica jersey before they leave,

Great suggestion. Either that, or put a cap on signing bonuses.

Last I checked Football tries to pass itself as a family sport. While I don't have a 6 or 7 year old watching games with me yet I wouldn't be happy about it. There is such a thing as class and sportsmanship. Randy Moss has proven to have neither. He reminds me about Dennis Rodman, a waste of human life that is headed for self destruction. Sadly, as a Football Fan I suport that. Only hope I have in my contempt for Him is to hope they lose the next game!

Yet it's ok for numerous commercials glorifying women as sexual objects, drinking alcohol (beer and spirits), violent shows that the network has coming up, etc.

I do agree with you that moss has no class or sportsmanship. That's obvious.

As BlamoHammer said above, Green Bay fans moon the opposing team's bus after a win. When you take that into consideration, it's much clearer why he did it. It wasn't a big deal, and in the correct context, it's even funny, and completely acceptable, IMHO.

Half the NBA players dont finish high school/college. A lot of baseball players are from poor countries. NFL players have been treated as Gods since the second they stepped on the field, and many probably got by school with illegal help.

Basically, they're uneducated and immature and think they're above everyone else (and unfortunately, their salary helps pound that into their head)
WTF ever. The NFL not only pays the least of the big three professional sports (baseball, basketball, football), but the sport is more physically taxing than the others, thus they're not able to make that salary for as long as the rest.

Baseball: 160-170 games a year
Basketball: 80 games a year
Football: 16 games a year

Compare per game salary and things match up pretty well...if not better. Plus there's much greater ticket sales, concession sales, and television broadcasts with that many games being played.

it can't be that bad. They kept showing the clip on the news this morning, and they were laughing about it as was I. Not like they could keep showing Jannet's flappy ta-ta over and over on the news...

we're not comparing on a sport to sport basis here. Athletes are all grouped together. The majority of them make more in one year than most of us can ever dream of. Are you trying to tell me that football players are underpaid?

i agree that what he did as classless. But comon he has done so much worse! like walking off the field with time to play or admiting he does not play every down.

There have been times when he has just let a ball go by because he would have gotten hit hard etc. I have no respect for the guy at all.

personally i find it amazing that his teamates put up with his crap.
