I guess there's a reason why AOL has a giant hole in the middle of its name. Suck and blow?

But really- I agree with GoldenBear- AOL provides a valuable service, no matter how much we like to nitpick that its users generally aren't the most tech-savvy people out there.

Once again it's time for me to step in and tell you all what idiots you are.

Ahhh, that felt good.

Really, there is only one, maybe two, arguments you can throw at me about AOL.

One, poor pings - I will give you that, I cannot game online using aol.
Two...ummmmm, uhhhhhhh, ehhhhhh...I dunno, you tell me.

Much of what I would say has already been covered by GoldenBear.
I never get busy signals.
I get a constant throughput of 45.3kbs.
I NEVER get popups (they can be disabled very easily).
I get very little spam (one email a day is a lot?).
AOL browser? What's that?

People also say/imply that AOL restricts the use of the internet...name one site that I can't get to because of an AOL limitation (no, this doesn't count sites that have banned it specifically).

not much choice...icq has been around a while...i keep in touch with
most of my friends and all of my family with icq.

my only problem is that they sold out to the beast (AOL).

i apologize for my initial rant causing such trouble...

you know, AOL is good at one thing. Defying physics. Its the only ISP that SUCKS and BLOWS at the same time. That and a tin can and string modem is faster.
