Rant about some people here......

People start threads to look for solutions to problems.

Some people reply; "I have ___ and ___ and have no problems." Period!

Is it an ego deal?

How does that help the person resolve their conflict?

I, personally, don't need to hear about all the people who aren't having similar problems. I want to see how others have figured out how to solve them.

If everything fell smoothly into place in your system, I'm happy for you, that's great. Please don't rub salt in the wounds of those who are struggling to get it right.

It's not necessarily an Ego deal, sometimes it can be helpful to know that it is
possible to solve a problem by pointing out that other poeple are able to get
thier systems working with similar configurations.

A lot of people will post "____ sucks" messages without even trying to get assistance
with whatever problem they are having. They start to go on a rant about how this
company or technology is bad, and then other people have to try to work out the underlying
issues to try and set the record straight. Also, some poeple have a habit of blaming
one piece of hardware for thier problem, when its really something else entirely.

It can help the person towards resolution by encouraging them to provide more
information about what troubleshooting steps have been taken. That way, more
poeple can provide feedback that can help identify the cause of the problem and
what might be done to fix it.

What if nobody else has seen your problem? Then you won't hear much in the thread
except you bumping it a couple of times waiting to hear from someone else. At least
the "no problems here" people are willing to read the post in the first place.
And their posts help to keep the thread from being buried down the message stack.
Sometimes I'll read a post I don't have an answer for because I might be able
to offer some insight that can help lead to a solution.

If you're struggling with a problem I can understand your feelings of frustration,
but please don't lash out at those who are trying to at least offer sympathy, if
not support.

I have to agree with CQuinn on this one. When I first came to these forums I was looking for technical issues with motherboards. Seeing strictly negatives about boards would have turned me off MSI. However, there were enough people posting the fact that they were able to get it working so that gave me a better picture of what was going on.
