Nothing. But going "metro" is a step in the wrong direction.

How is that?

One step away from sucking off men at the bus stop for fare

cos gay men suck off men at the bus stop for fare, right?

don't believe I said that maybe you need to keep away from your Jump to Conclusions mat

what did you say? and what were you implying?

The only people who claim that metrosexuals are getting anything are the metrosexuals themselves.

In reality the metrosexuals are the same group that is always using lame tactics to get women. The reason they do this is because women won't go after them otherwise. They're a bunch of inferior "men" who always got passed over in favor of the studly football QB type. Women are going to go after the more "manly" guy regardless. If one of them dresses up like a metro, then once again he'll take all the women away from the lesser, effeminate, metros.

Think of it this way- if you're a scrawny 5'6 120 lb guy, what else are you going to do? Of course you're going to invent some act.

I've seen remarkably few guys that were scrawny that I would classify as metros.

ditto....surpisingly...many of them are jacked

Bad answer. First, you can't shut me up, you can suggest it but I am not inclined to do so@this time. Connery was as hairy as a monkey so it was an excellent example. Obviously you had no intelligent response and your estimation of the "example's" viability means nothing to me

This is hairy as a monkey?
My bad, should have specified body hair, like in this pic I just googled up

Mike Myers is making fun of his being hairy with the Powers chest hair patch, I'd say he was known for his hairy manliness, and rough and ready persona. Instead of the foppish moore.

I'll concede the body hair, but he still pretty much judo-chopped everyone and drank martinis.

Remember when metrosexuals were called "Nancy-boys" or "Dandys"?

Well, if it is the metrosexual males getting the so-called poon, then it is the metrosexuals reproducing, passing on their genes, while the old style males will die out.

The reality of the matter is that they're not getting the poon. While they're at the bath&body works complimenting their other metro friends on their choice of hairstyle, the girl they call their "girlfriend" is back at home getting slammed by the same type of crude jock that the metro despises.

I think you're operating on wishful thinking here. When you envision the contemporary "player" type that sleeps with a lot of women and frequents clubs...does he look more like the guy with gelled hair and a meticulously selected wardrobe over his shaved chest...or does he have a frayed baseball cap over his messy hair and wear a t-shirt over his beer belly?

I think the whole Metro thing started with boy bands nsync and backstreet boys. All the girls thought those pretty boys were so hot. And that translated into thinking all pretty boys are hot....next thing you know guys want to be pretty boys aka metros.

perhaps im wrong. But I think if you followed the trend of metro-ness over time you would see a correlation between boy band popularity and metro-ness

In the evolutionary sense, if we take a step backwards we act like apes, if we take a step forward we act like civilized humans, and if we take a step sideways like the metros do, we act like fruits.

Well, if it is the metrosexual males getting the so-called poon, then it is the metrosexuals reproducing, passing on their genes, while the old style males will die out.

I'm an "old style" mail wearing an old Type O Negative t-shirt, ripped jeans, and no cologne and my DNA has been passed on. The evidence is whining on the floor behind me.

That was the gig alright. But moore wasn't very hairy when he had the fake 3rd nipple, and he was very foppish and fastidious about things where Connery was mr macho, that is the differences in types of men I think she is trying to contrast. I do not believe she intended it to the extreme extent of a NPTT.

By "fruit" I mean the unmasculine, whiny, limp-wristed, delicate flower type of man. The type that commonly played Dungeons and Dragons and was thorougly unathletic.

This is not to be confused with a masculine, confident, in-shape athletic REAL man who happens to be gay. You can be gay but still be a REAL man, while you could be straight but still be a whiny little fruity b!tch.

Most of the metrosexuals that you see are this type of man. Since they are not confident in their manliness, they need to use a crutch.

I agree. There's probably a lot of other factors involved, but I'd say thats the crux of it. Of course this woman isn't going to buy into it...frankly, she's old. She wasn't part of this whole mess.

You are confusing non-metrosexuals with slobs. A slob isn't going to get anywhere, so you might as well forget about him.

You can be a gentleman who is built, goes to the gym and uses cologne, and still not be a metrosexual.

i still love to go racing or tinker with the motorcycles or cars... but I like my hair short and the better places trimmed as most girls prefer it now .... I mean really how many girls really want a face full of pubic hair really?

What are a metrosexuals defining attributes then? Because I'm starting to think we're working on drastically different definitions. Is it the chest shaving?

And some men/women use name-calling as a crutch. Insecurity can show itself in the ugliest ways.

Allow me to clear up some confusion about gentlemen and non-metrosexuals.

A non-metrosexual does not need to be a crude slob. A gentleman does not need to be a whiny bitch. A gentleman can be well groomed, but there is no mistake about it- he's a real man.

But to the androgenous, unmasculine, thick black rimmed glasses wearing, too-tight shirt wearing, pseudo-intellectual out there, that's just a really poor act. That is the metrosexual that I know.

I would say that a real man accentuates his masculinity, while a metrosexual reduces it by being unmuscular, shaving all his body hair off, making his skin smooth like a woman, and acting like he's incapable of doing rough work.
