metro is a guy that acts stereotypical gay, but isn't. likes shopping, cares about fashion, uses lotion, actually worries about how his hair looks. Pretty much anyone that shops at Gap, Abercrombie, or Hollister.

no. A metro will not be caught dead in gap/abercrappy or ho-llister

thos ppl are just preppy fagz with NO fashion sense.

Someone with an ounce of fashion sense will not enter those stores.
A metro will shop at A/X , Bloomingdales and express for men

I shop at Macy's or Robinsons-May usually. I just spent $120 for two linen shirts and a pair of Dockers just last weekend.

thats nice. Plenty of non metro clothes in department stores.

We don't. Our women buy them for us as gifts that we begrudgingly accept. Left to our own devices, we use animal skins to protect our filthy bodies from the cold weather.

And some men/women use name-calling as a crutch. Insecurity can show itself in the ugliest ways.

Your inferiority complex is reall showing. I find it funny how when I run into people like you, you always use the same type of reasoning as if it's going to outsmart me. Yet I've seen it before and I know how to handle people like you.

You are making excuses why you can't be the alpha-male type. You want to pretend that it's cool to act like a scolded runt, since that's your only option.

Tip #1 - when you have an inferiority complex, call those who don't have such a complex "insecure", as if to turn the tables on them.

Inferiority is a point of view.
I was only pointing out the obvious, and of course you became defensive. It's natural.
And I am not trying to outsmart you, you sound a bit paranoid.
The Alpha-Type male is no longer necessary.
Thank you for the tip.

what? how do you think any venture in anything becomes successfull? someone takes the alpha role and leads. doesnt necessarily have to be a male, as many women are just as capable as men, but the alpha role is necessary none the less.

the rest pretty much comes from sam's club. nautica, polo, etc. 3 button shirts ($5-15 each) and savane and dockers khakis ($15-20) for work.

t-shirts, i just scrounge

LOL, but thanks for confirming what I already knew about you. The Alpha-Male type is the guy that will be successful and get the women. He's the guy that the guys want to be like and the women want to be with. He is unlike you.

I'm out in the boonies .. we don't have any of those.

then I cant see how you are commenting on what a METRO - key word here not BOONY SEXUAL ------ METRO-SEXUAL

they act the same .. just don't have the same store selection.

a friend of my brother's clearly fits the "metro" category. he was helping my brother with his lawn care business. he shows up wearing nice clothes and cologne. he checked his hair in people's windows as he was mowing around their house.

it was really quite sad.

sounds like normal wear to me nothing to be worried about you are not turning metro. gap/aber/hollis are just over priced versions of what you are wearing but still deffinitely not metro.

heterophobic? what makes you any different than a homophobe?

oops. that was a joke, didn't mean to post that.

maybe you didnt mean to post it, but i doubt it being a joke.

I'm sure you'll survive having been exposed to my opinion

you know what they say about opinions and assholes. i already knew that hypocrisy and phobia wasnt solely a hetero thing, anyway.

Right, as if it is even possible to BE "heterophobic", lol. There is no such thing, it doesn't exist.

there is of course no way in hell i'd ever be caught dressing or acting like a metro sexual.

my b/f is blue collar. i mean the dictionary definition of blue collar. his wardrobe consists of Carhartt, fruit of the loom and work boots for 6 days a week. he has a couple of pair of levi and gap jeans and ll bean shirts for the day off. his hands are beat to sh!t. he has one suit, shirt, tie and pair of dress shoes that he has worn once. he showers every day, shaves 3-4 times a week and his idea of hair care if to comb it back and let it dry. he will go shopping with me cause he loves me... and will cringe when i ask him to hold my handbag while i try something on. he would prefer a trip to the dentist over a trip to the mall. he doesnt know men from venus, women from mars ... he knows how not to fight... no psycology just smarts.

to me, he is the sexiest thing breathing.

his father is exactly the same. so are his brothers.

dont know if this has anything to do the power of money or society or anything.. but his dad is a multimillionair. and everything we own from the house to the vehicles to the business was paid for in cash. no one knows what they have and i am sure that looking upon them it would appear they dont have much. i am proud of his callouses... and when he touches me... they are man hands!

he and his friends look at metro sexuals and just scratch their heads.

thats really sad. At least true metro's ahve an excuse because they live in a multicultured city and can claim they are just sophisticated and worldly but your friends brother is just a bandwagon fake ass boonysexual schmuck it sounds like.

QFT...

mullets and backhair.... ewwww...

and im kinda that old type of guy myself...
but most girls always complained that we were like that.. now its the opposite?

i still love to go racing or tinker with the motorcycles or cars... but I like my hair short and the better places trimmed as most girls prefer it now .... I mean really how many girls really want a face full of pubic hair really?

I think she was complaining about guys who shave it off completely

You're responding to the wrong guy, chief.

And it goes far beyond just business and sports teams. The alpha-male type is a natural leader, and carries that attitude with him all throughout life.

Here's the strange part- my gf seems to get turned on when she sees me doing manual labor. Even though manual labor jobs make no money, there must be something instinctual that draws women to gladiators, construction workers, etc. You sure as hell won't see a woman get turned on by a guy fixing a RAID card on a server.

There's nothing quite as exciting as turning the corner on a hot summer afternoon on my way home from work and viewing this fine gentleman mowing the lawn.

no metrosexuals here !

What a whiny little b1tch you are.

im sure youll survive being exposed to my opinion. maybe when all hypocrits, homo or hetero, with superiority complexes decide to stop acting like theyre better than anyone else society will make the changes that homosexuals want and deserve, and we can all benefit for it. until then, good luck.

That's false. An alpha male is a natural leader. Of course most of the people on a computer hardware site are going to disagree with this, since most are wimps and/or geeks, and not alpha males.

PS- Why do all message boards populated by teenage kids/college students overuse the "!=" so much? Go on a messageboard populated by a more mature crowd and you don't see this.

Nothing. But going "metro" is a step in the wrong direction.

How is that?

Acting gay is fine if you are... GAY

Acting gay if you are straight is just a sad testament to the pussification of America.
