Bout a month ago ordered a DS-Onyx. Got it, had fun, played about 40 diff games on it,, all good,..

Noticed right away that the bottom screen had a yellow hue/tint. Looked it up online, others had this problem, and said nintendo had good support, so i sent it in.

Problem is, I got it back now after 2 weeks, and the bottom screen isn't yellow anymore,, Good job nintendo, HOWEVER, the color of the bottom screen looks Extremely washed out compared to my top screen. WTF..

My friend's DS has both screens looking exactly the same, though both his screens are More washed out compared to my TOP screen.

OMFG,, FK FK FK FK FK FK FK FK..............

I hate nintendo,, wtffffffff

You bought it a month ago...well within the warranty. You could probably even return it to the store.

Send it back again. Really, that's nothing compared to all the RRoD people have been having with 360's. I hope you don't have one of those.

They probably have more than one supplier of LCD screens. So the replacement screen was probably made by a different supplier.

You know who I really hate right now? Fucking Sony. Yes, big surprise, I'm angry at Sony. I actually bought their overpriced behemoth of a console you call a PS3 from SonyStyle. I have a thing where I hate waiting for things... so if I know it will go over a weekend and I want it ASAP, I'll try to select the most modest shipping method that will get it to me by Friday. Okay, so I went to order the PS3 on Tuesday night-ish. I realize there's no way it will get out until Wednesday, so I select 2-day shipping. Note that on Tuesday through Thursday, SonyStyle has free standard shipping, but that would put me into next week. So I shelled out an extra $40 to get it sooner. I see that into Wednesday the order is still processing.... Now Sony is no Mom-n-Pop shop, they can get this out... right? Well, the status changes to "shipped" late on Wednesday and there is much rejoicing as Fedex says I will get it on Friday! I check today and Fedex finally picked up the package and now the damn arrival date is 10/15 (Monday). I'm fucking pissed! If I wanted the damn thing next week, I would've selected free shipping! Even on their website, they say the arrival time = avail date (Tuesday) + 1 business day + shipping time. So Tuesday + 1 business day + 2 days shipping = FRIDAY.

Sorry, I'm not happy . I should've just bought one (the 60GB not the 80GB) from the mall today and ignored the stupid $100 credit (or do I still get the $150 since I signed up before the cut-off date?). Well, I could actually still do that and just return the other one? It sounds like it'd be a lot of effort though for just being really impatient.

I'm just saying since they're making a product with 2 screens. THey should make it MATCH at least within ONE Unit.

And when they say "REPAIR" they should replace both at least with the same screen. Even though my top screen is far superior in color and such.. Still though.. UGGGGHGHGHGH

Yes. If I wanted it next week, I would've chose the free shipping. I wanted it this week, so I chose 2-day. Seemed logical to me... has never failed me with normal retailers. I'm essentially out $50 because Sony can't get their shit together and put a box in a box.

I'll admit I'm also a bit annoyed because I had to spend $15 on an adapter so I can pull my old PS2 saves over.

Nah, it makes sense to me. If I wanted it next week, I would've just chose the free shipping (they typically offer free shipping from Tuesday to Thursday) and received it Tuesday-ish. But I specifically paid extra to ensure I'd get it on Friday, but because of Sony's slowness, I am now not going to receive it until later than I'd like. It's like when you pay for extra service... but you don't really get it. Hell, I did quote their exact arrival time equation that they list on SonyStyle.com and that says I should've got it on Friday.

Also, would you rather have the weekend to play with it or get it on a weekday where you have to work and do other crap? I think I also hate waiting over the weekend, because I know weekends are dead... nothing is being delivered so it's like my package is on hold.

You ordered Tues night, im' guessing it didn't officially become an order till Wed. morning.

So wed + 1 buisness day + 2 shipping = monday.

The time when an order is submitted is why they say it takes 1 business day in the first place, which is why it's Tuesday + 1 business day + 2 day shipping = Friday. See, I wouldn't care as much, but I paid extra when I could've just had free shipping and still got it next week. That's why I care more. It's like I wasted money! Well, I guess buying a PS3 is like wasting money too :laugh:.

The bottom screen of my DS is a slightly different hue than the top one. It's because of the protective coating on the screen (you know, for all the stylus touches). Never bothered me. /shrug

I got a DS recently and the screens are a little different, but the only game I can tell the difference on is Brain Age, and just when the screen is white.

When will the hardcore gamers learn to test thoroughly for "infant deaths" and return them to the RETAILER within the 30 day return period (or 14 day or 90 day depending on where you bought it). Infant deaths are when it works out of the box (not DOA - dead on arrival), but fails within is first first few hundred minutes or hours (depending on the product life span). Do NOT send them to the manufacturer with DOA or infant death problems. Return them at the first sign of problem back to the retailer. Get a complete refund. You should check online for other gamers' complaints to see if yours was a 1-in-a-million lemon, or if many are failing. You can then decide to gamble by immediately buying another or decide if a better gamble would be to wait several months for manufacturing changes or even hardware re-designs. Like the first year (okay two years) of Xbox 360s, send in a defective dead 360, get back another defective soon-to-be-dead 360. The obvious tall-tell sign was when the all the display models died with their first few hundred hours. Those gamers should have tested them until they failed early on, returned them to the retailer for a complete refund and blown that $500+ on XBox 1 games or PC games, or whatever floats their boat. Similar with your DS. First signs of LCD problems, return it for a full refund. Check online for other having the same problem. Wait past several manufacturing lots before purchasing your next DS. Rinse. Repeat.

These hardcore gamers will stress the snot out of their custom made overclocked PCs, checking for failures, but will happily skip and hop their way to hooking up their consoles or handhelds and gurgle and giggle their way into play play land, never really stressing the CPU or GPU (or LCD for handhelds) until several weeks after the purchase. Then the retailer return period has probably expired. Too bad. You just pwned yourself.
