Oh, I think having everything handed to him by his parents in his six figure household and calling his disabled mom a SOB (like that makes any sense) and not feeling the slightest bit of guilt for doing so. No wonder we have so many broken families in society today, people need to learn how to respect their parents and NOT have everything handed to them.

Like the OP, I too come from an Asian-Indian background and its common for immigrant-parents to support their kids well beyond adult-hood because thats the way their parents grew up in their own countries (although it was entirely different enviornment/society altogether).. when you couple that with the way society works in the western world, they sometimes endup being immature-ungreatful kids who get used to have everything handed to them. Belive me, I know all too well about people who grew up like this and they ended up exactly like the OP....

Which is exactly why I decided to volutarily and complately seperate myself from the financial blanket of my parents after I turned 18 (much to their discontent BTW). Having been through 4+ years living like that, I can tell you it completely changed my perspective on how the world works and has definitely made me a better person... and way more respectful to my parents because, to a small extent, I understood the hardships and difficulties they went through in life to reach where they are now.

Regardless, I am not trying to make out one condition to be worse than another, but I merely wanted to make a comparison for those that have never lived with anybody that has Lupus that, yes indeed, Lupus can be an absolutely awful thing to live with at times.

Knowing that his mother has Lupus and he still treats her like crap is just simply inexcusable. Besides appearing to be a prick on this forum, his attitude toward his mother suffering from Lupus most literally makes the OP a bad person.

Well assuming it's as bad as you say it is (I already knew what both of those things were), then why doesn't mom call a maid? The kids already clean up around the house and she still bitches while she sits there on her ass? They're all busy apparently and the mom isn't doing anything, having a disease isn't an excuse to scold your kids for not doing a good enough job at cleaning. They have enough money so why not get a maid as well? There isn't an excuse here, sounds like to me mommy is using her disease as an excuse to not do anything.

Its his parents money damn it, and they will spend it however well they please. If he wants to hire a maid then let him do it with his own damn earned money.

I moved out of the financial security of my home when I was 18. I paid myself through college and housing. I lived off $1 MickeyD meals most of the days and drove around in a 10 year old 3rd hand car EVEN though my parents were well off and if I had even asked them for money, they would have been more than happy to give me as much as I wanted. Why?? Because I didn't want anything to be given to me without earning it myself because I knew that I was an adult and it was time I started acting like one. I just graduated early this year and returned home for a long vacation... and my Mom tells me to do the same exact thing... it does get annoying but guess what, I suck it up and do it and don't call MY MOM, who raised and fed me, an SOB on a public forum.

I'm sorry, but I'm just so pissed off on how someone could actually talk to their own mother like this. I've gotten pretty angry at my folks at times, BUT NEVER, have I stooped to the level of the OP. He needs to get banished from his home so he could see how the real world works ASAP.

You know, I wouldn't be saying anything if he just said he was annoyed at his mom... thats certainly understandable. But to hurl such derogatory insults at your own parents.... :| :|
