I celebrate Christmas and I?m going to say Merry Christmas not ?Happy Holidays? so it?s P.C. (Politically Correct)

It?s so damn stupid...

If you are Jewish, then say Happy Hanukkah.
If you celebrate Kwanza, then say Happy Kwanza

Just don?t do the Politically Correct style of Happy Holidays!

Hey whatever floats your boat, then say that.

I believe Festivus is this friday.
What would a rabid Christ-kisser like yourself know about our sacred holiday? Do you even own an aluminum pole?

I'll say Merry Christmas to someone if I know they celebrate Christmas. Otherwise, I say Happy Holidays. When I worked in retail, I'd only say Merry Christmas if the customer said it first.

But "Holiday Tree" is dumb. It's a Christmas tree. Jewish people don't call a menorah a "holiday candle holder".

Exactly. Not only are the holidays a time to celebrate your own beliefs, but they are a time to show tolerance towards your fellow man. I don't get offended when people start talking about how they practice their holiday...in fact, I'm fascinated! I get the feeling a lot of the people that the PC'ers are afraid they're offending don't actually exist.

That is the problem with people now.. Trying not to offend others or hurt their feelings. The young people that are being raised on this mentality and future generations are growing up to be wusses. Always thinking that the world owes them something. The parents are partially to blame, creating this protective "world" they live in while they grow up.

It's hilarious watching the christians get so riled up about it; this is the main reason I support our non-denominational holiday w/ season which may or may not include a conifer tree.

This does not make any sense to me at all. How is being polite and considerate of others going to cause the down fall of Western civilization?

Why the hell would you care how other people phrase it, as long as you can say Merry Christmas all you want? And why would I wish you Happy Hannukah if you don't celebrate it, or I have no idea what you do celebrate? And why are you unable to comprehend that someone might be including New Year's day with Christmas?

Happy holidays

I don't know anyone who substitutes "happy holidays" except for television networks.

I've run into many old friends, a few cashiers at a mall, and a pizza delivery guy that all said "Merry Christmas." What's the point in your stupid rant?

i dont celebrate christmas (im hindu) and i still say merry christmas even though those 2 words have religious meaning to me as happy diwali (hindu holiday) since I am not religious at all.

actually i'm gonna have to say "happy holidays" this year. last year i sent out an email before leaving on break to my immediate team wishing everyone a "merry xmas and happy new year". When I got back, boss told me that I shouldnt do that anymore since some of the Jewish members of our team were offended.

op, you're stupid. they don't say happy holidays because they don't want to say merry xmas, they say it because there is more than 1 holiday this time of year than christmas.

do you want the cashier to sit there and say every holiday in the list or just say happy holidays? and everyone knows what religion you are by just looking at the person? come on, grow up

You should really go outside more when you become this detached with reality. Did you read the numerous replies where people said that they DO use "Merry Christmas" and most people aren't offended?

I don't know of anyone teaching children to only say "Happy Holidays." The Santa in the mall still says "Merry Christmas." Some people will say "Happy Holidays" to be polite to non-Christians, but what's wrong in doing that? Are you saying that it's cool to be impolite?
