All drive throughs suck. They were created to separate the lazy and stupid from the rest of us, and punish them. It's working as designed ;^)

they, highland145. THEY.
Which "They"? They that are incompetent workers. They that hired said incompetent workers. They that got poor service and didn't fire bomb the building the 1st time. They that believe doing the same thing over and over will result in a different outcome. Or the They that blew $6 on .37c worth of coffee?

Or do you mean Them?

Never have trouble ordering a grande latte at the drive thru. I just wish tenbucks carried Irish cream. And I wish they would stay open past 7PM. There is one in town that stays open to 11 PM, but it's father away.

dunkin's drive through takes like 30 seconds

one of the many reasons DD > starsucks

yeah, i like the taste of DD and Tim Horton coffee, but they are weak in caffeine compared to Starbucks.

what bugs me is the level of incomptetency at this specific store. they are overstaffed and still cannot get orders right and out on time. last week i waited 9 minutes with 3 cars in front of me. i am thinking of writing a letter to corporate.

sounds like the taco bell near where i work. takes 10 minutes to get 2 hard tacos, even when you go inside

This sounds like one of the *good* visits to any drive-thru here in GA.

The worst is Long John Silver's. Every time I go, there's no one else in the drive-thru. They take my order immediately and I drive around to the window. I always order something simple, like a fish taco. Without exception, I always sit for no less than 10 minutes...sometimes MUCH longer.

Yeah, I usually end up waiting much longer at other places, but at least those other places are dealing with lots of customers.

I'm with Highland on this one. You probably spent $11 on this wonderful experience of yours, and you went back. And not just once, but multiple times! I love a Pumpkin Spice Latte as much as anyone else does, but I'd say the only person that screwed up is you.

If you want to make a difference with this particular Starbucks store, make it with your dollar and don't go back.

Starbucks drive thrus are stupid and people who use them annoy the crap out of me. It isn't a product meant to be dispensed via drive thru. Park your car. Get your ass out of the car, and go get coffee.

You really should speak with the manager or even the regional manager so they can light a fire under their ass. I had the worst experience at a Boston Market we used to frequent because they had this lazy-ass manager who couldn't give a sh!t. I reported her and soon after a whole new crew was working that place.

Don't give up because a drive-thru coffee place is not to be under-appreciated. And I don't even drink coffee.

You need to learn how to write cliffs. Your cliffs section is 282 characters and your post is 255. Serious fail.

I think there are a lot of employees who simply don't care, and realize that drive-thru customers won't be barking at them about mistakes, since they've already left.

There's only one place I use the drive-thru, and that's one particular fast food place near me. They have never screwed up my order, never let one big order choke the whole line (pull over and park, they'll bring it out). I think that's all on the employees, no matter what establishment.

I came to the realization that about a third of my drive-thru orders at various places were wrong in one way or another, but none of the ones where I went in were wrong. That's not luck and it's not the system - it's the people. So I quit using the drive-thru with that one exception.

There's a Starbucks near where I work that gives me a discount. I pay less than 50 cents *tax included for coffee refills. I show up with my insulated mug and they fill it up for me. It's just about as cheap as a Keurig and I don't have to keep half & half in the office.

I'm never got into whipped cream and caramel drizzled on top of a beverage, but when they're cheaper than a 7/11, I'm not going to hate on them.

Having said all that, I'd never go to the stand-alone locations and bother with the drive thrus. I often see a line wrapped around the building....it looks like a guaranteed waste of 15 minutes around here.

all drive throughs suck. just go inside. you can make sure your order's right, you're not burning gas waiting in line, and service is often faster (especially at chik fil a)

You don't mention "that place" because the discussion would change to hate / homophobia.

First world problems, much?

Sorry, that was uncalled for, but I don't see why it's such a huge deal.
