Question Raptor Lake - Official Thread

Since we already have the first Raptor Lake leak I'm thinking it should have it's own thread.
What do we know so far?
From Anandtech's Intel Process Roadmap articles from July:

Built on Intel 7 with upgraded FinFET
10-15% PPW (performance-per-watt)
Last non-tiled consumer CPU as Meteor Lake will be tiled

I'm guessing this will be a minor update to ADL with just a few microarchitecture changes to the cores. The larger change will be the new process refinement allowing 8+16 at the top of the stack.

Will it work with current z690 motherboards? If yes then that could be a major selling point for people to move to ADL rather than wait.

People were complaining about AMD 95C temperature.

Good news for gamers. 13900K is frugal with games.

Computerbase had the 13900K using more power in games than the 12900K by good margin.

EDIT: Reviews do seem all over the place though.

Gaming IPC performance jump is 4% from the 12900K, so most of the uplift is due to higher frequencies, thermals and power consumption.

Honestly, I don't know why anyone cares about power consumption in games. Who cares about 15 W differences when people are running GPUs at 300 W?

I like Computerbase, but their "single core" benchmark suite is so silly every time I see it. They really need to change it. Three different Cinebench versions and POV-Ray...seriously!?

Impressive gaming performance in CPU bound scenarios, though. The gap between Raptor Lake and Raphael would be even larger with tuned, fast DDR5.

Nah. The 12900K still wouldn't give better minimum FPS. The additional cache is important.

The way is clear for Zen 4 3D to take 1st place as the best gaming CPU.

Not Really, look at the Puget System, the stock 13900K is doing 33,000 points at stock(most reviewers are doing benchmars with unlimited power because the motherboard allows it, but that's not right)

The water cooling numbers make sense because those are the scores you would expect for each CPU if not thermally limited. If you check the power scaling though, the Pudget numbers don't make any sense for anything except the 12900KS.

Yes, in short never run or use Cinebench or Blender and it will be ok.
