1885 recording of Alexander Graham Bell on a wax-covered cardboard disc: "Hear my voice - Alexander Graham Bell". Over 120 years old. Had to be 3D-scanned in to figure out how to play it back, incredible!

That makes it more interesting. When we see black and white pictures we see "the past." We know we are looking at real people, but they're different because to us they're not life-like. When it is in color there isn't that psychological barrier so it is easy to look at it as a place that really did exist, instead of just seeing it as another lifeless fact.
