WHy? I havent heard any problems, with them, it's a very reliable and quiet psu. I like the blue fan and it;s shiney as a mirror. Now all i need is liquid cooling in the future, maby 6-7 months down the road he he he

Get a cheaper CPU. Both the 3200+ and 3000+ should easily overclock to at least 2.4GHz

You haven't heard of any problems with them??? Do you live in a cave? In this very forum, a couple posts down, there is one about a review of 19 psu's. the x connect is one of them. Checkit out.

Get the x-connect outta their. It may look cool.

Soon you will have restarts and shutdowns.

could have toned town the CPU

RAM is overpriced. value RAM would have been 99% as fast and WAY less

PSU sounds shady.

a dvd player when you already have a burner?

Many new games are having trouble playing on burners, so an extra drive is often a wise choice.

I'd have gone with a 3200+
New Soltek K8T890 mobo
Antec PSU
No DVD-ROM
Added a 2nd hard drive (small and fast... depends on the prices)

Just me though.

This Athlon 3500 is a nice board, 939 is the way to go.

I know that Athlon wants to phase out the 754, a good reason to go with the 939 chip.

x connects are one of the worst rated psu's. maximumpc gave them the lowest rating in their psu test also. they are one of the many companies that try to sell looks, not quality.

yep, http://www.trustedreviews.com/article.aspx?head=64&page=2307

From that link "Even more disappointingly, after about one minute at full load the X-Connect blew up. Although it didn?t do so as spectacular as the Silentmaxx, there was clearly a major malfunction. We didn?t make it a habit to open the PSUs on test, as to be honest, this is not meant to be done, but we decided to open the two units that exploded to try and determine why."

Glancing over your system you?re prolly pulling 150 watts max. Put your X-connect under a 500 watt load see how it dose....

That's pretty abstract. See how many amps it can pull at 12v before it fries. Got a high powered car amp? will toast it in seconds.

I've already done that. 100A and all it did was shut down. Flip off the load tester and the PSU fired right back up again. 100A on the 12V is 1200W. You WOULD THINK it would blow up a PSU, but it didn't.

To my knowledge, only one person in this thread that is saying bad things about X-Connect actually has an X-Connect and that person (Pixel) hasn't even done a process of elimination to determine that their problems are a result of the power supply.

At TCWO we sold X-Connects. Had only a 1 or 2% RMA rate. I personally own two. One is one that I got when I worked at TCWO a year ago, and runs 24/7 and, as much as some of you are sorry to hear this, I've yet to have my PC "blow up."

How come when most of the OCZ's were blowing up, you guys weren't hard on them at all?
