The X2 5000+, after the price drops, will be about the same price as the Core 2 Duo E6600. However, the Core 2 Duo E6600 outperforms the FX-62, so you're missing out on a very large performance boost.

im not sure on "very large performance boost".

an extra 2 frames a second isnt my definition of it imo.

No. At least, you and I both believe the same thing. DDR2-800 speed would be 200MHz AFAIK.
