Rate my pics

Well i just got started with my new Canon 350D, wanted to know what the photgs out there thought. Any advice on what settings should be different?

There has been no PP yet on most of the pics, any advice there is appriciated as well

Criticism is gratefully accepted.

all shots were taken with a sigma 70-300mm or the kit 18-55mm

Kind of uninspired, to be honest.

I think you need to frame your photos more interestingly. For instance, IMG_0406.jpg could have been a more interesting shot had you crouched down and taken it with the tall grass in the immediate foreground and the trees in the background. The aperture is a little too severe in a few photos as well, leading to detail loss.

how far away was that flower from the lens?

the view of the town (406), I think the opposite of yllus. get up higher and eliminate that grass
with the 18mm focal length you can sharpen up the town details and lose the distraction of the grass.
unless that was your vision...in which case, good job

the eagle pics should be swapped.
use the nice blue sky for the spread eagle (the bird)
you know how to use photoshop right?

Thanks, this is the kind of feedback im looking for. 406 is probly the least inspired out of the set, but most of these are just shots i took spur of the moment. i put 406 in b/c i liked the clarity and the scope of it, but i do like your ideas.

the flower im not sure, it was fairly close but i took it with the 70-300 in macro mode at about 240-250mm.

the town pic was just a quick shot as we were wandering the mtns, i like both your ideas and yllus's, i wish i had both shots. it was taken at the 18mm, so as far as WA that is as far as i could go.

honestly i wish both eagle pics were on the blue sky, but it was right after i flew in and i couldnt miss the opportunity. PS i am still laerning, it is more tricky than the dslr settings by far
