This is fantastic pad. I'm a huge gamer/pc user and this is the best thing I've ever used. I've used it with the MS Explorer 3.0 and now my Logitech MX700, it works flawlessly with both mice. The surface does NOT seem to be wearing at all and I've used it for almost 2 years now. Wear and discolored? Are they using sandpaper on it? Mine is looks like new still!
If you're a gamer, you REALLY still need one. Other surfaces cause the mouse to "hang" or just have too much friction, which could be the difference between life and death.
It's not a bad mousepad but it definately does wear down quickly, and on most mice the feet get torn up badly from it. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone at this point.
Ratpadz user for 1 year....not one bit of wear on the pad is detected. It will no doubt grind the feet off of your mouse as I have learned. I am using teflon tape from this place on both my MX500 and MX700. All is well.........
I have a func pad and it hasn't worn down at all, no discoloration, mouse pad feet are fine, and it is really smooth, the ratpadz was my 2nd choice though :-/
No, Kyle Bennet is the proprieter of the Ratpadz. In fact, I went on a tour of CPU Magazine (whom he writes for) and they were telling me about his Padz. They said that if I left em my address Kyle might hook me up with a "sample" Ratpadz. Next thing I know I got 2 Ratpadz GS's in the mail directly from Kyle Bennet for free!!!
It's rougher than expected and so you have to have the taped feet (meaning more $$). Only good thing is that after 1.5 years and after a good cleaning, it's like brand new. I'd rather have bought a fUnc if I knew what I knew today. I'm certain about this because my bro has a fUnc 1030 (sooo smooth *drools*).
