Ratpaz or Everglide?

I liked the Ratpadz alot until it started wearing the pads off of my MX700 mouse, the surface is super tough. I switched back to a black cloth pad and it works great too. The MX700 is such a great mouse, the precision differences (at least for me) were neglegible. Has anyone had good experiences with mouse skates? If so, where is a good place to buy? Thanks.....

Mucker, thats the original Ratpadz, they are pretty rough and weren't designed for optical mice like the MX700( I have one too and love it). The new RatPadGS is more smooth/slick and is designed for Optical mice. I have a Smoke Everglide Giganta and I like it alot, I also use mouse skatez on my MX 700 to make the mouse glive even more smoothly. Yesterday I ordered a RatPadGS because I like the big open ended cut at the bottom. I'll have to see which pad I like best when the GS arrives.

What are mouse skates? Are those the small plastic thingys on the bottom of your mouse?

Why would you wanna buy them if it already comes with the mouse?

I've been looking at pads lately too. I'm gonna get the RatpadzGS because it is HALF the price of one of those fUnc pads and is argueably as good.

can someone tell me how one mousepad can actually help improve performance over any other? i mean, im using my 99cents Frys cloth pad just because its a habit from using balled mice

I have not used a mousepad since the advent of the optical mouse, but I always liked my Everglide. The Ratpadz looks even better.

theres a review of the pads on dansdata.com apparently for a while.. atleast with everglide they switched plastics... harder, but wore out quick. luckily they've learned their lesson and switched back to the original formula. my guess is that if ratspad wore out quick for a while too they switched too back then i did send a everglide back cuz it wore out quick.. my oldest one worked fine.. heh. now i'm happy again. cept i painted mine and put several coats of clear coat on

No they don't wear out at all, at leat in my experiance with one. I"ve been using the same one every day a lot for 2.5 years and it's still in great condition ( ocasionally I clean it with some alcohol). Best...Mousepad...Evar.

what type of material is the fUnc pad made from? the top of the surface is made from rubber? does it provide a smooth surface with an optical mice
