Hey guys~

Ratpaz finally started shipping, so I checked the price and it comes out to be around $17 or more after shipping. I was wondering which one was better between Ratpaz and Everglide Giganta? (Did I spell them right?)

Thanks so much!

Both are very good gaming pads,it really is down to personal preference ,so you can`t go wrong with either IMHO.

What's the difference between those two though?

I saw a picture of Ratpadz and it just looks like a big piece of black plastic. Hehe... I havn't seen Giganta upclose, but they look pretty nice and my friends told me they were great.

Which one do you recommend?

I have a Ratpadz, yep its like a huge plastic cuttingboard. Otherwise it kicks a$$ Works great for optical mice. I have a solid black one that I love.

They are very similar.

I personally purchase Ratpadz because:

A. I like the way they work.
B. It helps support Kyle and his website.

i have/use a ratpad and i hate it because:

1. after about 3 months is got rough as sandpaper on the area I used it most. i took off the rubber pads, turned the pad over, and reglued the pads on the other side... now im using the backside and its fairly slick for now.

2. i got banned from hardforums because I had something to say about the ratpadz besides "they kick ass"

1. Hmmm... Did anyone else experience this? I am about to order one...

2. Damn... it's so stupid how they do that. Trying to rip off their customers... If there are any problems with their products, they should let the users know. Sorry to hear that.

-The texture on the surface started wearing off, but it could be that the tires on the mouse were going flat and caused it. It's not like sandpaper, but it doesn't slide over the affected area as it should. I bought it thinking that I'd be saving money in the long run, and it would be ideal for the cordless setup at the fouton when watching a movie through the tv. It's great for the latter, but I don't think it saved me money. A clipboard under a fabric mousepad would do.

s2kpacifist, try here for a review of those fUnc pads you were talking about. I just ordered 5 of these badboys and can't wait for them to arrive! No more random staring at the sky in CS

both pads are nice, and i like the func the best of any commercial pads. however, my favorite is a piece of laminated black construction paper glued to my desk with 3M spray adhesive. i find this works really well with my intellimouse explorer 3.0, and i get a couple months out of it even with heavy use. its really cheap, too. you can get years and years of mousepads this way for the cost of a single high end aftermarker pad.

Same. I'd say get a Funcpad. It has both a smooth side and the "rough" side of the Rat/Everglide. Plus, i believe it comes in a really cool aluminum carrying case

lol, no, they don't wear out that quick. I bought mousepads for all of my housemates. not as gifts of course, cuz they are VERY expensive :Q

they arrived today and everyone's very happy with them You'll like yours IQJUMPuw... although I wish I could have got an orange/blue one. The place we ordered from only had black ones :disgust:

we ended up paying a US$41 tax + brokerage fee. (yes, we live in Canada) That works out to bout US$32 shipped for each one. ouch!

I stay stay away from the Ratpadz. Get the Func one instead.

My ratpadz was great at first...then after a few washing to remove dirt and greese the rubber feet came off. Now it slides EVERYWHERE and it has become quite annoying. Not sure if the everglide has the same problem.

I highly recommend a pad over cloth though. For sniping there is nothing better than the smooth gliding motion.

so you didn't put the feet back on and now you say they suck? i had a classic ratpad with the hardocp flame logo on it and i love it, now i have 2 ratpad GS coming and i should get them today. i love the price and the feel of the ratpad so i have to recommend them. I have used a lot of pads including the everglide i guess the only one i haven't tried is func.

Have you tried the black Icemat or SteelPad,they are for gamers that don`t want wear and tear ,they`ve a very long life span.

Some people swear by the Icemat just like others swear by the SteelPad, Ratpad,fUnc models etc that`s why it`s really a personal preference and also depends on what mouse you`re using .

SteelPad review ( just like the black Icemat works ok with some optical mice ,like Logitech MX series but not with all optical mice).

SteelPad Review 2 .

No. I have 2. Neither have shown this. I've had them for at least a year, probably 2.

I have an Everglide Giganta, and have used it for about six months with a wireless logitech ball mouse. The surface is still totally intact, and the base extremely stable. Coupled with a small gel wrist pad, it is extremely comfortable and provides great traction. Best of all, I got a really cool black "Half Life Game of the Year" pad for five bucks plus shipping from Everglide's "grab bag." For the price, I would suggest giving it a shot.

fUnc pad all the way.
i used the Everglide for a while but it's a hard plastic so it makes a noise everytime i pick up and put down the mouse. the fUnc is nice and soft.
