Rattlesnake bite aftermath pics

Here's some pics of this guys ordeal. I had no idea that their bite was this destructive.

Seen it....and it was a western diamondback, more dangerous than, say, what we have here in the pacific northwest (northern pacific rattlesnake)

Not for the weak stomached, BTW.

I didn't say that I didn't expect something shocking, but I also didn't expect to see some guy's arm sliced open and all the arm's innards exposed, all due to a snake bite.

Tree huggers don't bother me. I know they'd just get bitten by the snake during/after relocating it, and remove themselves from the genepool.

Those pictures show tissue damage after 4+hrs? I wonder how much better it would have been had he been able to get immediate treatment.

and I saw in person a guys hand that was caught in a bailing whip and Good Lord I still have nightmares of it.

As for that poor sob I think I would have just lost my freaking arm.

While true, it may also be argued that had he recieved immediate treatment at the first hospital he could have lost his arm entirely. When a doc says he's not comfortable working on someone, I'd take their word for it and wait it out and see someone more qualified.

Neat pics...I didn't realize rattlesnakes were THAT bad. Still, it beats the Australian snakes by a long shot...
