I know people look at it as a guy viciously beating 2 women. those women deserved what they got. when girls become aggressive with men, men have to protect themselves. times have changed. the day of the dainty female who is soft and non aggressive is long gone. for the record I will never condone a man hitting a woman. the man should walk away. this situation was totally different. the females were aggressive with ray by throwing the first blow and then on top of that jumping over the counter and going after him.

Not sure I would call her stupid. If he doesn't stop at some point he could have killed them. And while I agree they deserved what they got, I don't think even they deserved to die for it. And if they had died he might have been charged with their death and this may have turned out to be a very different case with him imprisoned for a long time.

All it takes is fear of imminent deadly or disfiguring force to justify self-defense. Jumping over a counter and threatening physical attack most definitely qualifies - you don't jump over a waist-high counter unless you mean business.

Yep. Some people tried to make the argument that hitting them again once they were down was over the line. No, the threat presented itself again by them getting up, self defense still in play. If you get up after getting beat in the head with a metal bar, I still fear for my life and assume you're threatening it by getting up - more beat down for you.

If he's lucky, or lives in a good state, his state will prevent him from being liable civilly as he committed no crime. But it is NY, likely not.

Well, Rayon himself probably doesn't have to worry too much since I doubt he has many assets. You can bet that McDonald's is going to be the primary target of the lawsuit. Unfortunately, they'll probably end up settling. I hope they don't. Those women don't deserve a dime.

If you look closely, you can see they were trying to get back up. I think he might have gone a bit far too, but not in a way that was criminal. Once you're in fight or flight mode (which he was in because they struck him and then jumped over the counter), I don't think it's easy to just turn off the switch.
