just picked this up from best buy for $40 on sale. Amazing mouse though i need some getting used to as i used the logitech g9x before. it was quite smaller so my palms/ hands isnt really used to the placement. i can see why this mouse is so high rated and so many people prefer it. it fits the hand pretty snug and nicely. would recommend anyone to buy this or the SteelSeries sensei, which i have tried recently as well.

it still feels a little bulky after a week of using it. but im starting to get the feel for it

The Death Adder a a great mouse- but for some reason the new Razor software called Synapse is a pain. It has caused Blue screen crashes on my PC when the PC is asleep and tries to wake up. Have tried to delete it and reinstall ,etc. The software is "required" and I don't like that or the fact that is is always linked to Razor - call me paranoid - but I don't like any software on my PC that I don't control. So, I have it on my PC ,but as soon as I boot it up I shut it off and then i have no trouble. So, i would recommend trying to find the old drivers for it and not use Synapse at all- I don't know if that is possible anymore or not. But, again the mouse itself is solid and I have been using them for some time.

I've had one for 4 or 5 years. Great mouse. Love the speed and precision. The left click has started to fail, though. Sometimes when single clicking, it double clicks. Or when I'm dragging something it will release it. Happens enough to be a pain. I'd buy another DA if I didn't already have a Naga.

protip - you can get legacy, standalone drivers for the DA and every razer mouse. razer likes to hide these in their website, but since synapse is such a pile of shit they had to re-release them.

you can also use the DA *without* the drivers. install synapse, setup your DA to 1khz, chose yoru DPI (1800 works best), shut down synapse, uninstall. your DA now works fine.

note that not all DA have legacy drivers. the 3.5g has them, for example, here:
http://drivers.razersupport.com//in...wnload&downloaditemid=574&nav=0,76,168,88,154

note the path written above the drivers; use it to navigate backwards and look for your drivers.

and finally: a real contender for the crown of best fps mouse

sorry NO- the Death Adder 2013 does not have any Legacy drivers - Razor is fully admitted that is the case. Many of their other mice and keyboards do - so I would recommend them. STAY AWAY from Synapse software.

Please read my latest email I received from them - notice they are offering me a new Anansi Keyboard because there are no legacy drivers for the DA 2013.

[FONT=Arial, sans-serif]We can send you an Anansi keyboard as compensation for the troubles in your case. Please let us know.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to reply directly to this email. I hope you have a great day!

well, synapse is not *that* bad. it sure is better than the logitech bloatware, for one.

and, you can install it ... register online (omfg..).. set up your mouse, kill the service with task manager, and uninstall it.

thats it. mouse works at 1Khz, at the dpi you want, and no synapse. easy or what.
