I have the Goliathus Speed in Medium atm but I am looking to purchase another one but in extended.

What is the true difference. I notice that the speed is fast and has very low friction but I feel like I am not very precise with my mouse (using Razer Abyssus non mirror edition).

I don't know if it's me or the mouse pad.

Thanks

(I also play on 1000hz/3500DPI w/ high sensitivity - if this makes any difference)

I have the speed with the deathhadder '13... I don't think it really matters to be honest. I know in synapse 2.0 I can change the gaming surface calibration. Like I said I don't think it makes that much of a diff but may be worth testing for yourself.

If you want to be more accurate with your mouse then you probably want to focus on learning to use a mouse at around 400 dpi on a cloth/control mat. Personally I don't think the razor control is very good, I would get a Qck heavy or a Puretrak talent instead and drop the DPI down. Set the mouse sensitivity in game such that a 180 degree turn is half the distance across the mat (or edge to edge of the mat is a 360), so somewhere around 360 degrees in 35cm or so. Make sure in Windows mouse acceleration is off, turn it off in any games you play and use raw mouse input where ever possible.

Eventually you'll get to the point where you realise that Abyssus isn't very good, its got inbuilt acceleration amoung other problems and at that point you'll probably want to replace it with something like the Razor deathadder 2013 or another flawless optical mouse.

Yea, the only reason I got the Abyssus is because it was fairly small, as I have small hands...I dont know of any great mouse that will work great with my hand -.-

I have the control extended and didn't like it much. It was ok but the feel just wans't for me. I have a razer destructor now and like the quickness and feels just as accurate if not more so. Maybe take a look at that one if you haven't already? ^_^'

I'm not sure what this thread is about but I like to use my G9 at max DPI or a notch below max, on a cloth mouse pad. Friction helps your precision
