Its Oct 18th. I intend to hit up my local Verizon store and play with new toys.

What else will be available?

I played with the M too and I like its small body. Easy to carry and use day to day, and since they didnt sacrifice battery life its actually a decent phone to buy and use.
Will play with all 3 at the store. I may just go with the little guy.

CRAP!

Local store doesnt have either in stock. In fact, they dont got shit in stock except the iPhone 5.

That means I gotta run up Sudley, which also means I'll be in close proximity to Hooters!

Just curious but why would you even consider the non-Maxx version? Personally I think the Maxx HD has a better physical form than the regular.
Its slightly thinner and costs less in exchange for a smaller battery and 16GB of storage. Some people will choose the non-maxx.

I haven't seen the new HD one but the previous Razr was too thin, and I'm assuming the new one will be as well.

OK, saw them at the store. In the hand those two devices feel exactly the same. You really cant feel any difference between them in size or weight. I think if you did a blind comparison the average person would have a hard time telling you which is which. Very light for such powerful devices. Obviously is makes sense to go for the Maxx since the extra battery life would be appreciated. A hundred dollars is a small premium for that along with double the internal memory. Its a good deal.
Was obviously fast and smooth, Motorolas additions to the UI were welcome and not at all intrusive. I couldnt find any Verizon bloatware but I didnt dig into the apps much. mostly I just admired the screen and played with the circle widget. Couldnt find any heavy 3d games to test out the performance. The Maps were smooth and fast, obviously I couldnt do any navigating in the store. Web was great, chrome is plenty fast.

If it wasnt for Verizons ridiculous fees I would have been their customer again.

I'd agree with you in the orginal form factor. But the HD models look really close and the RAZR HD got a bump to a 2500mah battery.

The extra $100 isn't quite as easy to justify in this case when the 2500mah battery is a significant bump in capacity.

$100 being less than most people on Verizon's monthly phone bill I think it's pretty easy to justify significantly better battery life and more storage imo for a phone that is going to last 2 years+

Yup, to get what I'd want it would be 130 a month. Frankly I can deal with 100 more for a better device. Only downside is there no choices in body color.

I miss the old Nokia days when we had removable faceplates.
Even my Atrix 2 can swap back plates.

So this phone or a Lumina 922? Which do I choose!
I am really starting to hate this question, because the answer has been given a thousand times of top of it being extremely obvious.

You pick the OS you want because thats what actually provides your experience.
Then you pick the hardware you think you can live with.

Went hands on with these myself this morning. Couldn't tell the difference between the Maxx and non-Maxx versions either, though they were tethered with the antitheft brick. I'm not a huge fan of Moto's icon set, but I do like them using what seems to be a nearly stock ICS keyboard.

Since I'll have to buy at full price to preserve unlimited data, assuming I stay on Verizon, I still plan to hold off until December to see what Nexii show up.

Same. As of right now the Maxx HD is my phone to get. I look forward to seeing the competition.
