isnt developers edition non-maxx only

For those of you seriously freaking out, the non-maxx has excellent battery life. You wouldnt be sacrificing much if you wanna save a hundred dollars.

http://www.phonescoop.com/articles/article.php?a=11352&p=5342

I imagine its just a small wait till the Maxx dev is available. Thanks for the link shorty, im going to check it out.

I have a question about dev editions though. If I bought one, could I use it on att at all? I honestly just need a phone to last a day. I do some browsing, you tube, radio streaming, and minimal phone calls.
I notice on my crapphone4 that iheart radio drains the battery insanely fast. we are talking 1%/min probably.
I do not work where I have constant access to a plug so Battery life is very critical for me.

Thanks

I just picked up a Moto M from Verizon to replace my 4GS. I'm liking the phone and looking forward to a JB update.

Bought my son the Razr HD on Saturday. That is a NICE piece of hardware! The OS feels very stock android also, it's not like Touch Wiz at all. I think I should have made him take my GNex!

I guess im the only one who hates the Razr line. I cant wait to sell off my droid razr on wednesday when my replacement workphone comes in. The razr has been the worse POS I ever had.

The older Razr is not a very good phone, from software to the physical build. Just curious but why didn't you go Maxx at least?

It didnt come in purple at the time. Actually I wanted thin. Figuring I had a SGS2 as my personal phone at the time and wanted something thin for my job phone I went with the purple razr and hated my decision. I rarely used the thing. I since got a SGS3 as my personal phone and convinced my job to get me a 32 gb iphone 5 which comes in on wednesday. I will sell the razr and then I can be one of those guys on AT-MD&G bitching about the shortcomings of the sgs3 and the ip5.

Reviews from Engadget and Droid Life state the HDs are massive improvements over the originals.

I'm kinda annoyed that Verizon not only chose to load the phones up with 17+ bloat apps, but also to disable the ICS app freeze feature. :|

I'll be watching the XDA forums for these though.

Just got mine today. First impressions are really positive. Kinda reminds me of a combination of a Galaxy Nexus and Droid X.

They were fine when they picked up The Droid. After that they started abusing their customers.

I got the regular RAZR MAXX, I shattered my X2 last month and didn't want to wait for the HD. Battery life is still never a problem and not worried about storage. The phone has been awesome so far.

Really? Why? Man, verizon is become the douche (well, they always were)

Think they are trying to push their own competing service. I read that you can get around it with root though.

Despite that this Razr Maxx HD is really awesome. Easily the nicest phone I've ever used. Build quality is incredibly solid(far and away the most noticeable thing about the phone especially after having used Samsung for almost a year), performance is great, reception is very good, battery life is awesome. I would say that almost every one of my previous phones had some random thing about them that made the phone not perfect like build quality, battery life, screen, or camera. This phone has all the bases covered; I really like that about it.

Say what? Link?

Why would they do that?

This is what I'm being told when asking why Picasa doesn't work on the Droid Razr HD on other forums.

It's odd because in the gallery Picasa shows up still in the list of options when you hit share but it doesn't work. Rooting is the only way to get it to work.

It would have it all, if not for the lack of ICS freeze + bloatware and having the charger on the left-hand side. The original Maxx had the ports on the top/bottom, which makes sense.

Other than that this phone is great. The recent reputation of Motorola is a huge knock as well.
I wasn't affected by Moto's lies, but many people were and I can't deny it's not an influence (or at least should be).

I'm not too concerned about the bloatware. The Galaxy Nexus had pretty much none and you could freeze the 2 or 3 vzw apps if you wanted to. There was no tangible benefit to having less bloatware or being able to freeze them. Could argue space I suppose but with 32GB of internal storage and the option to add a 64GB microSD card I don't really consider it an issue.

The couple phones not getting an update thing is way overblown and over sensationalized on this forum for some reason. For the age of the Atrix it's completely reasonable that it isn't getting an update. More people without Atrixes seem to care about it than people that own the phone. Motorola overall has a rather good Android update track record when compared to companies like HTC.

Baloney. The Atrix is only old because Moto took so damn long before even announcing its failure to update! It was less than *eight months old* when ICS was released.

There's no phone on the market that isn't a Nexus phone that is as old as the Atrix and has or is getting ICS. We're in October 2012 complaining about a phone from Feb 2011 not getting an update.
