I've been getting several spam email a day for weeks on this "hot buy" even offerring to sell them "direct" as there supposed to sold out in the US, sorry I wont touch this deal ,maybe its cool but the scamming going on in my email has left me cold...... a sample of a small portion of it

At $8-$10 a pop, I wouldnt exactly call it a scam. Certainly no more so than the Disney marketing machine creating pop stars. (Is buying a britney spears or christina agulira CD a scam?)

- Quality is barely acceptable
- Will NOT work with NiMh at all
- Will not go straight while travelling in reverse

It turns out these are the Hobbytron ones. Also available at http://www.hobbytron.net/mini-remote-control-cars.html but he is asking lot more !

For $9.99 I spent, I am not too thrilled. I would like to buy the original Tomy but I have not seen them at any local place.

Were they the Panther or Shen Qi Wei brand? Does it actually say the brand name on the car somewhere or are you just guessing they are the same as the ones sold at Hobbytron because they look the same? Did the car you bought have a 1.0, 2.2, or 2.6 motor in it? The ones Hobbytron sells have the faster 2.6 motors. Charg-n-go's are not the same as Panther or Shen Qi Wei's if that's what you bought.

I will be able to post a comparison of Microsizers to Shen Qi Wei's after Christmas morning.

Microsizers are $30 at HobbyTown. Not bad.....too bad they only come in 2 frequencies.

Broke the cars out this morning. The $7 - 8' x 4' wood panel and the 1/2" thick high density foam tape weatherstrip works great for the track. There is no noticeable difference between the Shen Qi Wei cars and the Microsizer. They both handle equally well in forward and reverse. There is a slight difference in handling between the (4) different Shen Qi Wei's though, some seem to hold a charge better than others and handle a bit differently, not sure if it is a quality problem or user error yet - I need to play with them some more to see. The important thing is that my 8 year old thinks they're pretty cool!!

Apart from hobbytron (or was it hobbytoy), I could not see any other brandname on the car. The remote control, packaging, the bubble dome etc are all identical to the picture shown at the web-site. The car I purchased is the 35Mhz, white with the red stripes model. I have no idea what kind of motor is in it. I can not see any way to change parts.

For $10.00 they are OK but if I had to pay $20 for this car, I would be quite upset.

Got *3* Shen Qi Wei clones for Christmas. Two of them pretty much broke out of the box, both ordered from an online retailer. Third one works pretty well. Thinking about ordering a microracer online and getting a replacement engine and some replacement suspension components for it.

After playing with these things for a while it appears the Shen Qi Wei's are pretty much POS in my humble opinion. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. I won't buy another. I might try buying another Microsizer or Bit Char-G, the one I have seems to be working pretty well.

hhee couldn't wait for mine, went to the mall and got a skyline with 3 bodies and a 3.6 motor!!!! drinks up the batterie like crazy but i don't tell my friends i swapped the motor... their faces are priceless to look at BAHAHahhahha
