Well, I get to fly mine a little today and grash into a tree badly. Broke the wing (not totally broke off but enough to should not fly again). I just tape it up with clear tape. *hehehe* It seem to be fine now but this thing surely can use some improvement. I see why they don't put a wheel on this thing. It can't really land like a normal airplan. The word "Glide" is the key. You press forward to add power and if you press too long it will go up. Anyway, I can't fly long because it got too dark and can't see well even with the parking lot lights on. It would go into "Stealth" mode and I couldn't see.

Mine cam on tuesday, waiting till Saturday to fly it. I can't wait. I charged the battery up and put in the plance and the motors have a lot more power than I thought they would to propell the plane.

Just got mine this evening, hopefully I'll be able to fly it tomorrow if conditions are good. I was surprised that they included instructions on video CD. First VCD I ever played in my DVD player (you can use media player as well).

Well, I took mine out today, its maiden voyage and last untile I can find some glue. I busted off the plastic piece and the foam where it connects to the belly of the plane. Anyone know what kinda glue I should use to glue it back on. I know superglue will just eat through the foam.

I was able to fly mine this morning. It does fly, but I did have trouble keeping it in the air. Whether due to my lack of experience or the plane itself (or some combination of both) I'm not sure, but it was still fun. I gave it quite a beating (many crashes into ground and a few trees) and only did minor damage to the plane. I was in a field in a park surrounded by a walking trail. People on the trail kept stopping and commenting things like "Hey that's cool." but I didn't exactly dazzle them with my flying skills.

Hey......

You guys may want to be sure to go to an open field, or better yet a gentle gliding slope that has no trees. Planes are attracted to them (trees) like magnets.

Look at the birds..... they will always tell you where the best thermals are!

Hey guys,

Well, I went out and flew it again. I agree with you guys that this plane is really hard to keep in the air. Even worst when the wind blow every direction imaginable. Anyway, most of the time I seem to battle with the wind but in the end the wind won and my plan cashs to the ground. Luckily this plane is light weight or else it would explode hundreds of time with the way I flew it.

One time I flew too high and couldn't control it anymore, so it kinda glide into the school yard which locate in the middle of the school. No way in, except the roof. I climped up the roof but couldn't find a safe way down into the yard, and even worst no way to get back up. So I decided to go home and get my fishing gear. LOL, it work out perfectly but the top cover got knock off and I can't get it with a hock. So I had to make another trip home and get some real sticky tape. I got all my plane pieces together. I flew it again and crash hard into the wall. Wall won so my plane kinda crush/crack/glued parts are open/etc. Now I have to run to home-depot and buy some of those wood glue or those white glue. But I wouldn't use crazy glue. I got some scrach too so I think I just gonna use black marker to kinda re-paint it.

Previously I crashed hard into tree on the left wing, it broke. I repaired it with those clear packing tape. Work perfectly. But if U want nice, I think u can use glue too. I go fly it again tomorrow but differe location that have more open field. Hope there little or no wind tomorrow. *hehehe*

This is THE FORUM: "http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/" to learn about RC! I found this to to be the Anandtech Forums of RC!

I went there to get info on a good charger so I could build an external battery pack for my laptop. Got myself a Triton 5amp charger that will get the full power out of the 4-pound NiMH pack I built.

Anyone want to help me find a Hot Deal on a Slowstick? I have a great charger for my Laptop, now I need to get a decent starter R/C electric!

I am with you on finding a hot deal, after I flew my B2 bomber today for all 5 minutes before it crashed and busted(glueing back together) I want something a little more durable.

EDIT: You have to enable your PMs I found a few deals

Hmm, I always remember wanting a R/C plane as a kid. I did enjoy flying some pretty kickass kites, wonder if I could pick one up on the cheap? I used to go out in storms and try to get hit by lightning. It would go so high I would lose track of it, then the string would break and it would cruise over several city blocks. Gotta love wind power....although it's always free, so I guess it's not a hot deal, since it's the usual fare? Ok, done rambling.

Ok - I started a thread to get a "real" R/C Airplaine put together.

For about $150 you can get a complete flyer setup - everything but the NiMh charger. Chargers can be had for $30 and up. Under $200 and you have a nice setup.

The cool part is that the airplane is only $35, so if you crash it - many of your parts can be re-used

Link to New Thread - or search the Hot Deals forum for "Slow Stick".

I got the 49mhz version from JCPenney, I have crashed it about 10 times and have had to glue it back together already, it pulls the the right like you wouldn't believe and its tough to get it to climb

I thought aircraft were all on a separate frequency band (72.xx MHz?) and surface vehicles on two others (49 & 27 MHz?)

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but my local Wal-Mart had these Stealth Planes on clearence for $35. Came with charger, batteries, remote, everything. I didn't pick one up but might if you guys think this is a really hot deal.

Don't feel bad if you can't fly it. I read somewhere that the B2 is actually impossible for a human being to fly, and if it weren't for the advanced computer making the changes to keep the strange bird aloft, it would be completely not airworthy

for $35 its definitely worth it, but make sure you pick up 6 cheap D-cell batteries, 8 cheap AA batteries, and some quick dry Epoxy glue.

This should keep you going for awhile assuming the plane doesn't get to thrashed when you fly it.
