They rolled all the stats back to the day they found the key. The team standings aren't coming up for me - is there any way to find out where I finished on TA?

I noticed that I was suddenly missing like 2000 blocks... :| But then one of my cows dumped 125 last night and those were accepted...

I wonder if something else is going on with those stats...

It's mixed emotions for me that RC5 is now done. It's been an addiction of mine for a long time.

Okay, having spent a full day with my favorite bird Crow, my mouth is no longer full and I can congratulate all of my teammates on successfully completing the RC5 project!

But I thought you were your own favorite bird!

Thought it might be nice to go over and shake a few hands at GOT

Feel free to join me at Tweakers Net Forums to give some credit to the DPC's who did an amazing job to finish first.

Wow, hard to believe it's over... RC5 is what brought me here to the forums in the first place.
It's been a good ride, but now it's ECCp-109 time!

Congratulations to Team AnandTech ? RC5-64!

I?m a relative new-comer to Team AnandTech compared to a whole lot of you, some whose names are legendary.

I?ve been concentrating on one project like a lot of you. The trend lately is to diversify into more and varied projects. I think there is going to be something for all of us in mid-2003 ? BOINC or as many of us refer to it, Seti@Home 2.

BOINC

For your convenience I would like to quote one paragraph:

Even more significantly, BOINC is an open system. Other science projects can create their own distributed computations using BOINC. You choose the projects in which to participate, and you decide how much of your computing resources should go to each project. Your PC might search for ET, study global climate change, and do biological research, all at the same time.

Things are still a little fuzzy on exactly how this is going to work but I am hoping it is going to be a platform that we can all use as we see fit. Some folks like me really do want to prove without a doubt that we are not alone in the universe while others think doing so is a waste of time. Without arguing the pros and cons of which project is the ?best?, I am hoping we can all unite under the Team AnandTech Banner with this new platform. We shall see.

In the meantime, your fellow Team AnandTech Teammates salute your great accomplishment and are all looking forward to your added horsepower.

Dnet's stats page shows 3,549 members participated in the Team Anandtech RC5 project. No doubt there were some who joined after the date the key was found and now aren't included in that number.

I finished 59th on the team, and 6th among those who joined when I did or later (which was my personal measuring stick). Finished #1441 in the overall RC5 list in 775 days of work. I have a spreadsheet where I kept the number of blocks I did for every day. I liked the stats!

Final Team Anandtech RC5 standings

[post is to give me a way to come back and find the URL for the TA stats page which took me too long to find. I used to just click through to the top 100 teams overall, then to the TA team list, but the top 100 teams link on the dnet stats page isn't working any more.]

I browsed through stats and found Phantom Flusher - Team Anandtech :disgust:

When the first phantom flusher blocks appeared? How much extra blocks PF made per day? Now I think it's safe reveal who was this block fairy.

That was my old personal account that I started way back when with an old 486DX/66 PC. Until the phantom flusher:| hijacked it. At the height of the pf:| production, the account was doing over 30K a day.

I moved my herd over to TWTA, changed the account name, and had DNET ever came forward was willing to cut the account loose from Team Anandtech.

Last I checked the stupid thing still gets 1500 to 3000 blocks a day from the phantom flusher:|

But there were a LOT of accounts that were getting 3K to 20K a day from the phantom flusher:| at one time.

Some of my best and favorite races were with KingHam using that personal account. In fact we were racing to the next level when the pf:| struck and blew things all to hell.

ooooh, if the id of the phantom flusher:| is ever made public, I'd love to beat him past silly with my cane. :|

Cool! This is the first DC project I have ever been involved in, it's neat to see it come to a conclusion.

Ah, The Phantom Flusher. Perhaps he will reveal himself soon. I got many many blocks added to my account from the PF, but never a clue about who or where.

Whoever you are, you know how to keep your mouth shut!!!
