Congratulations everyone We were in 24'th place when I joined and I got to see the team climb to first, passing the unbeatable MACs and trashing the slash, it was lots of fun and I learned a lot about networking along the way, thanks all, and....................

I'm proud to have contributed in however small a way to the TA RC5 effort.
I'm also glad it's done, and not stuck in limbo somewhere, I feel a lot was learned by a lot of people on the project.

Now let me just ask for some help on TA Seti. We have been constantly moving up the ranks of the world teams, now we are in 8th place right behind the Mac team. We are truly nipping their heels, and will pass them most likely sometime this month.

There is an alarm ringing though due to the BBR team coming up fast behind us. They have a guy who can pump out a phenominal number of WU's (work units) per day and he has been dormant until just this last week. Now he has cranked up production again with the name of his account being:

BBR Battlecruiser (TeAm'S nightmare)

Now if that isn't enough to get you guys up in arms then I just don't know what is!!!

They have been gunning to "Beat TA" and "STOMP TA" etc.. ever since we had a competition a year ago in which we soundly (IMHO) put them down.
Now they are about to pass us. I think it's inevitable at this point, however our revenge could be so very sweet!!!

How?

Of course with the aid provided by fellow TeAm members switching their RC5 machines to TA Seti. With all the firepower at your fingertips we could completely blow them out of the water and quickly move up past the Macs and Hardware France!!!

Come on, we need your help in Seti - consider this an invitation to come help us kick some world class teams butts.

naw, I'd say give up Seti and work on some smaller projects... some which make sense (what for find ET? Even if we find him, how to contact him or even pay him a visit???).

I've decided to go for Folding@home or Genome@home... the client is installed, just need to finish my d.net OGR buffers...

Btw: The distributed.net staff is looking for projects to include into their client... somewhat like BOINC (Seti@home). That means already running projects... not only new ones. They could use the existing stat system etc.

But what I'd like to see is all groups merging. One client which can work on everything, the user can easily decide which one to switch to etc. As many people would be working on it, the "client-base" could be highly optimized, there would be no need for lots of client specific tools (proxys and whatever), just for one...

SETI makes perfect sense ,we want to prove we are not alone in this universe.
Visiting is irrelevant atm ,contacting would be difficult depending upon distance ,but not impossible.

Btw I don't have a problem with people running other projects ,I just don't like my one being deratted
Anyway ,lets not start a huge great agrument about different projects ! ,best way to avoid that is not to say any negative comments.!

To sum up

To all x-RC5 ers there are many different projects that you could run now ,rather than let your cpu cycles go to waste why not nose around & see which project you like ,there's gotta be at least 1 for you, there must be about 1/2 a dozen by now at least!
