RC5 forum for AT and DPC....

I've been reading some small reactions on both this forum and the GoT (DPC) and this is a very good idea for all parties I think. I'm talking about a neutral forum for both the DPC and TA. This has only advantages for both teams I think. I was thinking about how this could be arranged if there is enough interest:

==== Moderators ===
- If a forum would be built for AT and the DPC first there must be an even number of moderators of both parties.

- Second only the moderators may assign members for the forum. Those members are the reponsibility of the moderator. This could mean that an DPC member can only be kicked or banned for some time by a DPC moderator.

- Offcourse this kind of things can only be done if there are multiple complaints about that certain person. The moderators can be best assigned within the own team. The team know the best people for the job offcourse.


=== Rules ===
- Rules must be setup between the moderators. To communicate smoothly I think the best way is to meet on IRC or another Chat-programme.

- The first rule everybody must apply to must be English: Everybody must write English on this new forum.


=== Only TA and DPC? ===
- I'm thinking now, why should we build just a forum for the DPC and TA? Why shouldn't we invite the 2 russian teams and other teams who are high in the stats so we can all talk to eachother. This is very nice for all parties because I don't speak russian and japanese and other people can't read dutch or whatever.

- I don't think we can ask d.net to arrange this. They already have more then enough work to do with maintaining the stats.

- The best thing of this new forum managed by both the DPC and TA is that those 2 teams have very much experience with flamewars, trolls, trout and offcourse chocolate pudding

I don't think that is the problem.
That's great, if someone wants to do it.

The problem is trolling, obviously a troll will not make it to that forum, but will still come here to raise hell.

The trolling will become less I guess. Its the question the drives me if the members of both teams are willing to use the forum.

Look at the opportunities:
- Take a look at the DPC stats on the forum. Those stats we could use to share with each other and compare.
- Lots of rules are necessary but all to keep the forum fun for everybody to read.
- Imaging other teams would join too! Then we could talk with the russians a little bit better. We (DPC) made the russians angry during the MF6 (even russ can't stop us!) The russians were mad at us too then.
- The competition will be better between the two teams and even members between teams can start a race to special goal. (like the federation and TWTA are racing now..)
- And everybody in the whole world will know what trout is and how you could make a good meal of it

OK, I rarely visit this forum, let alone write a message here (I had to dig hard to find my password), but anyway: I don't really see the need for this...
I think that 'normally' DPC-members are quite welcome at the AT-forum, as long as they behave themselves.
I think we have a mutual goal, and thats winning the RC5 contest.
Sofar the AT members are the only competition left, and that's what makes it fun, but that's no reason to underestimate each other, nor dislike each other
I am willing to help anyone (AT or DPC) in achieving our mutual goal...
Ofcourse I'm Dutch so I'm a (proud) member of DPC, but after all we're all human, and I think the ultimate goal of this project is to bring people together
Therefore I would like to encourage people to visit each other's site (like engineer is doing) and to learn from each other; this only will make the competition more fair, and more fun!
Ofcourse English is much more easier for Dutch people than Dutch will be for Americans, but that's completely your own fault (you should have studied your history - most pioneers in the America were originally Dutch).
Anyway, be free and express yourselves, as long as you can value your opponent at it's true strength I don't think there will be any problem...

Russ, calm down; just because someone makes a mistake, doesn't mean you have a right to flame them. He brought up a good idea, and was very cordial about it; you're just adding fuel to something, and lighting it. As for your idea fraek, it's a good idea, but I don't really think it's nessisary. As long as certain members on both the DPC and TA sides control themselves, you're free to drop on by if it's for a honest reason(say, a UT match?). Just remember to carry yourself in a respectable way, as being a guest puts you under a lot of scrutiny. The door is open, you just have to bring yourself to the other side, and make it so you're not thrown out.

You really should _not_ take everything so seriously. Since English is not our native language we don't have the same 'subtlety' (sp?) in our writing as native-english speakers do. So please cut us some slack. Most stuff that's being written here by Dutch posters is meant as good fun, not trolling.

You misunderstood my post , i am seriously interested in the reason that your keyrate has dropped over time!

I know DPC will have a hard time catching up (and the change that the winning key is found gets bigger and bigger over time) and i respect the numbers: your currect amount of processed blocks is immensive (but that only helps to keep the contest alive )

when it 'drops off' the bottom number will be smaller than the top number

the desirable thing is for the current rate to be greater than > the overall rate and to have the highest overall rate..

both... currently we have neither... TAs rate has increased over time though, not declined....
