Oct. 12 - DCP takes 3rd. (Mac Team falls to 4th.)
Nov. 3 - TA takes 1st. (/. falls to 2nd.)
Dec. 15 - Russian Team takes 4th. (Mac Team falls to 5th.)
Dec. 27 - DCP takes 2nd. (/. falls to 3rd.)
Jan. 6 - Hack Zone Team takes 5th. (Mac Team falls to 6th.)
Feb. 24 - DCP takes 1st. (TA falls to 2nd.)

Sans any major flushes, assimilations or defections, I would expect this to hold, give or take a few days.

The DPCs will take over 2 positions faster than we are taking 1st! :Q

We gotta do everything we can NOW (legal, moral, ethical) to get our keyrate back up on top, or their overtaking us will be a done deal sooner than we would think. :Q

We can't depend on any one person's efforts to save our "hides", so we all have to get out there and do everything we can to assimilate and to recruit!

We can do it!

BTW, why isn't dnet stats correctly up yet? I've flushed nearly 2k blocks since the info in the stats page but it only shows an increase of a measly 240 blocks.

Maybe even sooner if we don't all go out and assimilate. I got two more machines today. Anyone else?

We need some creativity and energy here. The DPC have outworked, outthought, and out-assimilated us, and we still piddle along with 650 or so, give or take active members. I'm not trolling, just pointing out the painfully obvious.

We will take 1st place for a period of time, and the DPC will clobber us. - then will point it out to us. (that's as inflammatory as I will get)

What are we going to do about it? - whine? - or get busy?

Well, I'm going to the Geology department next week just to laminate some academic ass. On top of talking to the Chairman (who is an old classmate of mine from 1976) about the PCs and Macs in the computer lab, I'll try to recruit all the profs and graduate students there, maybe a few dozens undergrads. I intend to spend an entire day just recruiting and loading the TA Cube client on machines. Hopefully that will yeld some results. The fact that I am still considered 'the cool prof' might help a bit.

In the dutch we have a saying:"wie het grote niet eert is het kleine niet weerd" -> It means something like who isn't happy with the small things isn't worth the big things. When looking at ass laminating. TA should focus on the small additions and the big will come at time. Talk about RC5 with everybody with an PC and internet. America has the biggest percentage of people who are connected to the net. There can't be an excuse for those people not the crack for a team. There are big companies in the states there must be a way to use them. The DPC has whole companies cracking for the team. Let everybody share the succes of your team. Don't setup a goal with a time limit. It must stay fun and not a must. Fun is the most important part. The TA member who come to the GoT sometimes must have seen the top 30 stats (soon a top 50??) This is the thing everybody is waiting for. Am I in the top 30 or not. The stats look very cool and are the heroine for our team. We now have lots of stats junkies in our team who are only focussed on stats. My tip to AT is to go to Onno or on of the keyserver admins (the brains behind the MF's) and ask if they can give you the source for building your own stats generator. Stats are the winning key for succes! (hehehe)

fraek is right. The Dutch Power Cows Hitparade is the one (and only) thing I'm looking forward to every day. Often they come with additional stats like Monthly stats and the famous MoBees stats.
Every day I'm comaring stats for at least half an hour a day.
I think it became an addiction.

If TA can offer this to his members, the members will make more effort to assimilate PC's.

I hope this will inspire you guys double your efforts and to give us good compitition.

I certianly don't want to put our team down here, it is not my intent. I have visited the DPC organization and I have to admit they have it up on us with stats and their forum. Maybe we should look at alternatives in these areas?
