RC5 --trying to join TeamAnandtech is a bitch...

I keep getting this error message whenever I click on "I want to join this team" at the TeamAnandtech page.

What is the error message that you are getting?

I don't know for sure, but you may not be able to join a team during the stats update. Try again in the morning. You may also need to clear you cache and cookies.

The computer that is supposed to be sending your password is still tied up running the daily stats run. Try mid-tomorrow, if possible... and Welcome to the Team! We are so glad to have new members, ask anything you have questions on. If you have some friends who might be interested, drag 'em in here too! : )

Here's the message that I've been getting since Friday night:

You have entered either an invalid id, or an incorrect password.

If your ID # was > 500000, then you've been re-numbered. Due to a bug in the stats server, about 900 participants were assigned ID numbers that were way too high. Please search for your email and see what your new ID number is.

Also, if previous to 3-Feb-2000 your password was all a's, we've told the stats server to generate a new password for you. If this is the first time you've seen this error, your password should be on it's way to you. As usual, feel free to contact help@distributed.net if you have any further questions regarding this change.

Like Dale says, it is most likely because they are in the middle of a stats run.

If you still have to problem after the stats run is over, try using another browser or another computer.

Also, if you get tired of trying to get you password, you could join one of the miniteams. If you decide to go that route, I'm sure that you will have several mini-teams fighting over you [subliminal]rc5crackheads@hotmail.com[/subliminal]

There's no way in hell that I'm joining any team other than TeamAnand. If TeamAnand doesn't get my cracks, no body else will.

I have my password, but I didn't get any chance to put it in or anything before I got that message.

It seems to update any time that I want to join. lol

the RC5 stats run occurs every day at 0:00 UTC (5:00 PM PST) and takes 7-8 hours.

As for the miniteams, they are still a part of TA. What you do is you change the ID in the client to the ID of the mini-team. The mini-teams are all a part of TA, but they take competition to a new level.
