Got mine yesterday. However, I was only able to play WMA @ upto 64kbps. Perhaps I don't have the latest wma.exe on the cf? I also found the free Microsoft AudioConverterLE (Media bonus with XP but also run on Win2K) was much easier to install and use (compare with dBpowerAMP).

Why in the world do they describe it as an mp3 player on the compgeeks site, when it can't play generic mp3s?

this is 31 dollars on ebay, i will let you know what i think in a little while, now to find cheap smart media cards
cd mp3, based would be nice but i dont think you can workout with those

can someone help me out. I tried installing the software that it came with and i got a device error, something like this software is already installed and to uninstall, restart and reinstall the software. but i couldn't find the software installed. anyway, i can't get this software to work so i can't use the player, can anyone provide a step by step installation tip, thanks.

I wouldn't even bother with the parallel compact flash thingy that comes with it. Just use a usb compact flash reader/writer. Ever since I installed the parallel CF drivers on my win2k box, explorer crashes intermittantly.

so if i use a usb cf thingy, do i just copy the mp3s over or do i have to convert to wmv or some other format? what's the yahoo groups link, i clicked on the one that's on this thread and i got a page not found.

You need to either convert the mp3s to mpxs or just copy wmas to the compact flash.
