2026. So maybe RDNA 5 / UDNA ????

new rumor has circulated online that the next-gen Xbox called ‘Xbox Prime’ is targeting a 2026 release date.

The news comes from X (formerly Twitter) account TheGhostOfHope, who has a history of posting primarily Call of Duty leaks. According to Hope, he says that he’s heard the next Xbox console “is still coming in 2026 and will be called Xbox Prime.”

He continues to say that it’s unclear if the console’s name is the codename or not and that Infinity Ward’s next Call of Duty title, presumably Modern Warfare 4, will be a Day 1 release.

Hope later continues that the Xbox next-gen release is “pretty much an open secret within the industry.”

If the rumor proves to be true, it could suggest that we could be hearing about the next generation Xbox sooner rather than later, possibly by the end of the year.

As for whether the rumor is true, Hope has had a history of posting Call of Duty leaks and is known to have sources within Activision and Call of Duty development teams, and with the company now owned by Microsoft, it’s entirely plausible that he’s been given the information from a developer working on a next-gen version of Call of Duty 2026.

If they launch a 'next gen' XboX in 2026, I'm worried about the feature set, as a PC gamer. Ideally we'd want the next gen to arrive when they have the transistor budget and technology for a solid RT capability, enough general purpose AI hardware for upscaling and similar features that we haven't even thought yet of for the next 5-10 years, as well as enough VRAM not to hobble it 1/3 into the lifetime of the generation. 2026 sounds way too soon for that. And even if this is the 'Series S' version, and the 'Series X' arrives later with the full wishlist, the hardware feature set differences could be a problem as well.

Future series S versions are likely to be handhelds

My guess MS launches both X & handheld together (in 2026)

That way it gives them an excuse to drop support for current series S

Memory should not be a problem with 3GB sticks available

Node could be dicey. Maybe zen 5c on 3nm ? In that case for sure the GPU will be RDNA 5
otoh, if it is 4nm then most likely RDNA 4 with some RDNA 5 features brought forward

Speaking on the NeoGAF Forums, well-known AMD leaker Kepler L2 commented on the next-generation system from Sony, revealing that its SoC is design complete and is currently in pre-silicon validation already, with A0 tapeout scheduled for late this year. While this may mean little to most, this new information suggests that the console may not be too far from release, as Sony's usual cadence between A0 tapeout and the release of a system is 2 years, meaning that, if this will be the same for the PlayStation 6, we could see the launch of the system in 2027.

The AMD leaker also provided some additional information on the PlayStation 6 GPU, revealing it is a fork of AMD gfx13, which was formerly known as RDNA 5 and is now known as UDNA. The leaker couldn't say how big it will be, but the fact that it will belong to the gfx13 will eventually provide some information on some of its features once AMD fully unveils the architecture

Is that confirmed to be the same KeplerL2? Or could it just be someone using his name. I find it odd that that account was created two days ago.

Hardware to hardware? Not really. RDNA4 is collecting dust until FSR4 is ready more or less.
FSR4 seemed ready enough 2 weeks ago when I saw it running live at AMD's booth during CES.

-Are the rate it's taking AMD to actually *launch* RDNA4 cards, we're looking at a 6-12 month GAP most likely
There's plenty of stock of RDNA4 cards in stores right now, with some of them even doing unboxing videos.
It would be quite strange to force the stores to keep the cards in the backroom for months.

They're probably going on sale this week or the next.

-Everyone's cards will come with a thick layer of dust and some rat droppings sprinkled on top.

So RDNA 4 launch only in late March ?

Benchlife confirmed there are not many RTX 50 supplies on the market. This is mainly due to communication issues between NVIDIA and AIC, as well as the Spring Festival(Lunar Year) factors are expected to improve in February.
In addition, we expect to see the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti starting to appear on the channel in mid-to-late February. As for the RTX 5070, we may have to wait until early March.
