How old are you?

Have you ever gone through a bottle of 10 year old Scotch in a night? If not, you haven't had fine whiskey. That's just advice man, nothing against Jack, but it AIN'T fine whiskey, and that's the truth.
One word. Glenrothes. My favorite single malt.

It's not really fair to try to compare American whiskey to Scotch whisky. They are totally different animals. Basically Americans were trying to make whiskey similar to Scotch but with ingredients readily available in the US, and we came up with things like bourbon, rye, etc.

If you would like to send me a bottle of 10 year old Scotch, or it's cash equvalent<sp?>, I will gladly go thru it in a night.

Never ment to imply Jack was a fine drink just that it's better than beer, IMO (and it fits into my budget, cost of living in LA is nuts).

EDIT: Good job on the alternate spellings.

Hey, English beer isn't bad either.

Give me a good ale.

Oh and I like liqour, but on a hot day, or when I am just really thirsty, a beer goes down quite nicely.

I am a beer snob, I guess one would say. I don't like the typical mainstream American beers, e.g. Miller lite, Coors, Bud, etc. A good beer just has a good taste. Some people like it, and obviously some don't.

I like my wine as well but I am not really into hard liquor any more. There was that one year in college, though . . .

I think 300 pound women with four teeth are nasty, but some guys still would hit it.

Thusly, a good oatmeal stout is a very delectable drink that a lot of people don't enjoy, but I sure do.

Different strokes for different folks.

i find that some beers are good but most don't do much for me. usually go with rickard's red or alexander keith's pale ale. I'm in canada btw. on the other hand, i'm more of a liquor person. give me vodka or jack any day over brew.

edit: fixed for ridiculous grammar

BTW - comparing Budweiser/Coors Light to a good porter or stout is like comparing Sprite to Pepsi. Two COMPLETELY different types of flavors/textures.

Unfortunately, they don't last long enough in my posession for me to mail.

Jack is fine for its purpose. Can't dispute that, and I sure as hell wouldn't turn it down.

It does not taste good, so why is it so popular? I understand that getting drunk can be enjoyable to some, but why beer?

/drinks a jagerbomb in a coffee cup~

I can't really say anything about beer, I have two empty kegs in my bathroom.
$38 to fill them up with bud (cheapest we can get).

And yes thats $38 for 15.5 gallons.

I don't see the point of drinking in the first place anyways, so I'll never "aquire" a taste for any.

its fun to go out, let yourself go, put the worries and accomplishments of the past week or day behind and just enjoy a good ball game while enjoying a glass of your favorite ale from the local brewery.

so to all my fellow beer drinkers, i raise a  to you. cheers!

I actually generally like cheap beer better than expensive beer thats what college will do to you. The "mainstream beers" like miller, etc are my favorites....but I'm generally drinking good ol' fashioned Beast and Natty.

wow, to all you saying it does not taste good and agreeing it tastes like piss, you're all quite bold in your proclamations, as far far more would disagree with you than agree. It may be that you've only tasted horrible beer, or you have bad memories of a fat aunt that would always force beer on you, whatever the case, pipe down. Beer is not bad. Beer is good.
