Re-installing Win2kPro

I"m having issues win windows 2000 pro. Every time I want to shut down or restart, the system hangs. I get errors regarding my paging file. The system often hangs. And the Windows Installer doesn't work.

I want to re-install windows 2000 pro, clean install, what do I do?


Edit: I have all of the latest drivers, 4-in-1's, service pack 3. Maybe there's something wrong with my hard drive, but I installed a bunch of hard drive testers, and it passes all of the tests no problem.

Post the exact error and perhaps someone who has seen it before can give you some help.

If you want to skip trying to fix whatever issues you have and start over, just boot from the w2k cd, and reformat your boot partition in ntfs. Make sure you have all your drivers handy or burned on a cd. Specially your modem/nic so you can go online and d/l a driver you might have forgotten.

try running memtest86, it will tell you if your ram is causing those problems, which is one possibility. if your overclocked, go back to normal clock speed and try again.
