As far as noise goes, it's very reasonable. There's no high pitch noise. Just a "whoosh" from the fan which really does move some air. It dropped my case temp by 1 deg. C.

My experience has proven what 'laugh' has said, about MTBF, to be true (with GE lightbulbs). I leave the front light on at my shop 24/7, for the girls. They used to turn it off until I defeated the switch. It dies after 5weeks, like clockwork and has been doing so for over 3years.

Received mine today.
But something bothers me: Nowhere one the label I could find "LinkWorld", and NO brand AT ALL. This makes me believe that this unit is not Linkworld, any may not have all the functions metioned. The label also shows "Made in Thailand"???
Guys, what does your unit's lable say?

I've ordered from these guys 5 times. Just ordered two cases w/300 watt power supplies. Shipping was $12.45. Most places you cant even get a stick of memory for that.

Twice i've seen them ship the same day i ordered before 12pm. And if i order at night it always get shipped the next day.

I've ordered the 400 watt power supply 2 weeks ago from them. I have it in a 1800XP system cranked up to 1725mhz. No problems at all

Their shipping price RULE, and they ship fast

Definitely this is a generic unit, NOT a "Linkworld" brand name. And it runs fairly warm by touch on my Duron 1G, with one 7200 Maxtor 740X, and a regular CD-ROM. Hard to believe.

I'm returning it in exchange for a "Highpower" 300W

I tested it on my Duron 1G with minimal load of hardware, I could clearly hear high pitch noise that varies with CPU load. I don't know if this is normal, but for a 400W on Duron 1G, it's hard to believe. The fan is kinda loud too. Where is the advantage of "automatic fan speed control" that is supposed to be superior to "noise killer"? Maybe my hearing is too sensitive.....

PCA replied my email and said it is a linkworld product, and gave me phone # to check.....

I don't want to verify since the performance of this unit is way below my expectation. $20 speaks for its build, nothing more.

I'm returning it either for upgrading to a AMD approved HighPower unit, or just for refund if they want to charge shipping of the exchange. Now, it's time to test their RMA service.

I'll keep you guys posted

I ordered (2) of the 400W units, but what I got seem to be (2) pre-used 350W units. I am definitely not pleased, and have sent an email requesting the proper units and a return airbill, so I can send these back......

I need to better power supply to replace an older Antec 303X 300W unit I have. The Antec only does 160W combined voltage (+5 & 3.3V) while the newer 303XP models do 180W. I have an Athlon XP, two 7,200 RPM HDs, two CDRoms, four 80mm fans + a 60mm Delta, two devices powered off the USB ports, and a few more goodies packed into my case. I can audibly hear the case fans slow down if I clock my CPU any higher than 1.33GHz where it is right now. Then my whole system reboots after a couple minutes (usually when both HDs and/or CDRoms are going). I have a definite power issue holding back my CPU from being clocked higher.

Anyone know the combined voltage outputs of either of the $20 power supplies in this thread? Anything over 160W should help me out a lot, I am pushing the limits of what I have now. My budget is very limited or I would buy something better...

I got 2 of these.... Definitely generic, not a linkworld sticker, build quality feels cheaper than my generic "nspire" and the metal is even bended in some parts.

I haven't tested them yet, I opened one of them (bye bye RMA or return) and the interior seems well built. I still need to test them. If they are too noisy, I will replace the fan with a quiet one.

I received mine today. I also received a new motherboard from newegg to replace my faulty MSI K7TPro2a. In the process of setting everything up I decided to try out the new supply. Worked fine, but, a few minor things:

1) Only 2 connector runs, my old 300w had 3 power runs with multiple connectors on each. Easilly fixed with a $1.50 y adapter.

2) The screws that hold the powersupply case together (bottom of power supply) are rounded and NOT flush with the metal. Thus, when I went to mount it in my case it keeps the supply an 1/8" higher than it needs to be so it won't line up with the screw holes in the back of my case. I'm sure I can fix it with some new machine screws, but, annoying that they used those instead of the ones that screw into the case and are flush with the surface.

Oh well, it was $27 after S&H and will work well as a spare.

I received this PSupply a few days ago, Put it in last night and it works fine. I believe that is is 100% generic though.:Q
But for this price could it be anything else?
I seems to work just fine, a bit louder than the one it replaced. It cranks the air out great, high RPM fan.

Does anyone know of a downloadable utility to check the wattage outputs?

How noisy is the fan??? Do you know how many CFM pushes???? Do you think it is a good idea to replace it with a 29 CFM 26 DBAs fan???
