Are you saying Gore saw the front lines? I hate to tell you but daddy's boy had armed body guards when ever he left the safty of the press corp office.

And I also hate to tell you but no one running for office says "I'm running because I have my daddy's name and that should make it easy for me to get a cushy goverment position" they say something like "I am seeking office because there is a void of leadership in (insert office here), and the people have asked me to fill that void".

Gore's Theme song:

Some folks are born made to wave the flag,
Ooh, We're red, white and blue.
And when the band plays "Hail to the chief",
Ooh, we point the cannon at you, Lord,

It is me, it is me, I am a senator's son, son.
It is me, it is me; I am a fortunate one, yeah,

Some folks are born silver spoon in hand,
Lord, don't we help ourselves, oh.
But when the Goodwill comes to the door,
Lord, the house looks like a rummage sale, yes,

It is me, it is me, I am a millionaire's son, son.
It is me, it is me; I am a fortunate one, yeah,.

(Gore may like taxes for the rich, but a few years (can't remember when) ago he and Tipper reported an income of ~$250,000, but gave less than $400 to charity)

I really don't think people care about who your daddy is. If anything most Americans probably get annoyed and unimpressed if you have an important name inherited by a father who has earned it. People with important names have to work just as hard if not harder to prove themselves worthy of their name and the respect of peers. The liberal citizens like to see hard working Americans how have started off poor and have risen to success. Therefore, I really don't think rich people have an advantage in running for office (except for the $ to help campaign).

Gore did not participate in War!! He went to Vietnam as a member of the press corp. Basically, he was just like that jackass on Saving Private Ryan who got everybody killed. And talk about getting to there position on the coat tails of others...Gore's daddy was a senator and the only reasoon people like him now is because they are dumb enough to have liked Clinton. You are Truly stupid. Marlin1975

algore Jr. only served half a term in 'Nam taking snapshots with body guards.
-------------
He introduced Senate Bill 2594, the Supercomputer Network Study Act, in 1986, when forward-looking companies such as Apple still didn't even have e-mail.

His internet study bill of '86 was never passed by Congress, nor signed into law. Introduced is meaningless...he didn't RTFM.

Actually, I believe that each voter should have to take a test that shows that know what each candidate stands for.... That would get rid of a lot of dumbdumbs that just vote cause say they they are one party and don't really know what it stands for...

The following is completely true and I have not embellished ANY of the facts. Personally I was really pulling for McCain, but now I will be voting for Bush.

I work in a small office with nine other employees. About three weeks ago, while doing a daily lunch quiz in the paper, a couple of coworkers and myself were "stumped" on the first question, "How many stripes are there on the US flag?". Fortunately our receptionist (she turned 40 this year) heard the question and immediately gave us the answer of "52". "52 stripes?" someone asked (all of us looking at each other with puzzled expressions). "Yeah, one for each of the 52 states" she replied in a condescending tone. We thanked her for the answer and went on to finish the quiz.

Two weeks ago I heard a trivia question on the radio "What US state has the largest coastline?" (the surprising answer: Michigan). When I got to work I asked the question to a couple of people and our receptionist responded with "Mexico" (I guess Canada must be the 52nd state...).

Last Wednesday morning, the day after the first debate, I heard our receptionist on the phone with someone. She mentioned she watched the debate and that Gore was "more smarter" than Bush. She also commented that Bush was an "idiot". After she got off the phone I mentioned I was surprised (and happy) that she watched the debate but wondered why she believed that Gore was smarter than Bush. She said from what she had seen, Al Gore just sounded smarter. I then asked her what Bush said that classified him as an "idiot". She finally admitted that she changed channels about 30 seconds into Gore's first answer because she was bored ("why did the debate have to be on so many stations anyway?" she asked) and never even saw Bush speak. She still stood by her "idiot" label for Bush though, because that is what she had heard from someone.

She doesn't "trust" Bush (I love that one as she has never even heard him speak and Gore's "simple mistakes", as she calls them, are nothing to be concerned with), she doesn't understand any of the issues ("who really cares, the government is going to take care of us" ???), but she will be voting in the November election. God help this country, all 52 states?

The only difference between Rep. and Dem. is that there are slightly more scummy groups supporting the Rep. ie.. tobacco, NRA, and Right To Lifers. The REAL problem in this country is the church!

The Democrats and Republicans have done a very good job of conspiring to "divide and conquer" the electorate. Each party has its own supporters convinced that the other party is hell-bent on evil, but, if you take a step back and actually examine the policies and programs they advocate, you will see that it is very difficult to distinguish them.

Both major parties have presided over a steady growth in the size of government, no matter which party held the presidency or the congress. In this century, we have gone from a total tax rate (federal through local) of just a few percent to today's approximately 45%.

So, you can vote for the party of big brother (take your pick), or, you might want to check out http://harrybrowne.org/ Obviously, he won't win, but if you vote Democrat or Republican, they will interpret that as an endorsement of what they are doing.

IMHO, this could be a very hot deal.

I wish I could remember a quote by Felix Frankfurter (Supreme Court Justice, Dem. or Rep. I don't know) exactly, but it went something like, "The greatest injustice is treating everyone as equals," which I 100% agree with. Since when does everybody DESERVE to be equal? What is with this liberal attempt at leveling?

I agree with you there matt. Nothing pisses me off more then everyone thinking they are entitled to be able to do everything. Let's face it people ARE NOT equal nor would this world be any fun if they were. I have to say though, that the conservatives are the opposite, they want the rich to be richer and the poor to be poorer. Don't get wrong I am for neither Dems or Reps. I will be voting for Jessie Ventura. Now there would be one hell of a president! After all, you don't vote for who has the best chance to win, you vote your heart! Neither of those 2 idiots who are running deserve MY vote!
