Ready to OC, plz advise

CPU-Z says it's Revision B.

512mb Kingston PC2700 (Cas2)

SLK-800 w/ SF II and pleeeenty of case fans.

Default voltage = 1.65

I see people mixing between FSB and Multiplier, and then slowly bumping it up until it's unstable, then raising the voltage a bit to get it stable.

Is this correct, what settings would be reasonable to start at, and should I fiddle with the ram timings? I've been learning and reading a lot but now that I'm going to do it I'd just like to get some expert advise specifically about my system.

Since you people all seem to have jobs and lives and such , I started out at 11.5 X 166 at 1.65 voltage (1917mhz). CPU at 43C running F@H at 100%. It's almost 8AM, time for bed

I still could use some advice as to what my ram timings should be.

When Im overclocking 1st I try to overclock running the ram on SPD. Then if it gets stable I try tight timings like CAS 2, etc.

See what kind of FSB that ram can handle, bump it to 175, ( it may be able to do Cas 2 still)

If you get a tad unstable bump the voltage to the ram (Vdimm) 2.7v

Do the same for the CPU (Vcore) 1.75

Ok I'm not quite ready to go down that road just yet.

I ran the PC for 24 hours running F@H at 1917mhz (11.5 X 166) at 1.65 v

It ran fine except for the video. UT2k3 took a lot longer to load, and when I moved the mouse over things on the desktop it left ghosts for a sec until the picture filled back in. I felt like the CPU and memory handled it fine but the video card didn't (G4 Ti4200 128mb). It did play UT2k3 fine, but I only played for a couple minutes. Again, F@H was running in the background. My PC actually cools down when I play a game and F@H has to step aside.

I lowered the multiplier to 10.5 and now it's running great at 1750, but cpu-z says the ram is now at 2.5-3-3-7 (it's set to auto). It was at Cas 2 before I started OC'ing. I think I probably need some more, better ram before I can expect to reach 2 ghz.

Lock the agp/pci to 66/33/ if you can with that mobo.
