Real clay poker chips: 500 set for $306 shipped

i have been searching high and low for those real authentic casino-quality chips. i finally found them and found a decent set:

real clay, not composite and no metal filler. two color tones spotted, in an alumimum case with two WPT decks, dealer button, and 2 cut cards. apply the 5% coupon available on the website's main page and you are good to go. my total came to $306 after coupon and shipping and sales tax. for the guys outside california is would even cheaper.

PokerChips.com has some beautiful stuff but i don't want to wait 12 weeks =)

I'm pretty sure real poker chips are 11.5 grams in weight. $500 poker chips for $300 is a rip off IMHO

most casinos use 10.5g chips.

frys sells a similar set for a great price (made by maverick)....the chips are casino weight and they had a 300 piece set on sale for $40 with 5 dice 2 decks and a button

I'd rather have composite. Clay chips are much more susceptible to damage, even from everyday use. God help you if someone spills their beer in the pot. Clay dissolves in water. :shocked:

Well I disagree about the susceptiblety of clay chips, if the casino's use them they are pretty hardy. My intial thought was, why not just go to a casino or do and buy a bunch of dollar, 5$, etc chips and use them, when you are tired of poker and don't wanna play anymore, you can still cash them in.

I hope you're joking. Clay chips, just like bricks, tablewear, and other clay products are fired in a kiln which fuses the particles together, and not only are they waterproof, but about the only way to destroy them in normal use would be breakage.

Guess the story I read about clay chips was a lie then, or the person was mistaken about what they were made of. They were scratchable with a fingernail and melted slightly when they'd gotten wet.

Still a ripoff even if they're not fragile.

You could hit up a $0.25 roulette table, buy a bunch of chips, and then leave. You would have a full selection of colors to choose from.

i found a 500 chip set for $50 at harbor freight tools...the same set at frys was $70

the chips seem to be 11.5 weight(very heavy) with 2 decks and 5 dice...this is a very hot deal if it is nation wide...i am in las vegas

Yes, but these are 10.5g chips...if that makes any difference hehe.
