Okay, I recently purchased from L-buy.com and the only review I got for the company was a positive one about good Kingston RAM so I decided they probably dealed real Samsung 512mb DDR PC2700. Also, I looked it up on pricewatch.com as "Samsung True PC2700 512mb" as keywords and L-buy was one of the lowest. $98 bucks. Tight, I thought, but I read a post about two weeks ago (can't find it now), with pictures of real and fake RAM, I was stupid and didn't print it out but I remember one thing from it. That the real chip has the word "Samsung" imbedded on the pcb. Well, I've never bought DDR, so if you guys can help me out here.
I don't have "Samsung" on the pcb, though it does have a warranty sticker, and a label saying 512mb ddr, but no sticker with samsung on it. The only thing with samsung is the actual RAM pods on the pcb. I'm guessing it is fake because I saw the samsung rams with the Samsung sticker on it *sigh*, oh well. But if it is, someone let me know for sure that I wasted 98 bucks plus shipping and handling on this thing.
